Sluggish pace of Bob Menendez trial creates political and legal uncertainty

Sen. Bob Menendez's federal bribery trial is expected to last up to two months -- and patience already appears to be wearing thin.

"I'm sick and tired of listening to this," US District Court Judge William Walls barked at an attorney Monday morning, kicking off week three of the trial in Newark, New Jersey. "We'll be here until this time next year if I permit you to ask needless questions."

Important part bolded. He's doing this so Murphy gets to choose the his replacement, not Christie. While I obviously don't want Christie to get a replacement, this is very underhanded, and if Menendez is going is going down, it should be in a timely fashion. If he didn't want to hurt the party, maybe he should have tried not taking bribes.
