• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi,

I realize this is a forum to share experience, not provide medical advice. That being said, I was rushing around this morning and I am uncertain whether I took my lexapro dose. I take 40 mg every day.

I don't want to take more if I already took it, so I will at the worst be skipping a dose.

My question is, has anyone who takes high dose lexapro or a similar SSRI (like prozac) ever skipped a day? Did you have symptoms either that day or the next?

I know the withdrawal symptoms well, but that was after I had tapered down for some time. I am starting to feel strange just by thinking about it :p !

I appreciate your responses. Thanks. God Bless! Marc

Hey Marc, I take prozac and I have skipped days unwillingly but I was on a low dose when I did, I was fine, but don't listen to me. Make sure you call your docter and ask them because my mom said it is not good to skip days when you are on these type of meds that mess with the brain. GOD BLESS YA!

Thanks babegirl. I'm back on track. I will never know if I took my meds yesterday or not. Oh, well!

Marc
HI Marc,
Because I take Buspar and have to take it twice a day along with a tiny dose of Remeron at bedtime, (am weaning down), I really depend on those daily pill boxes with the morning noon, night compartments. I can open up the little door and see if I took my pills or not so I won't accidently skip or double dose.
Helps me a lot with this problem.
God Bless,
Mitzi

Well I have sertraline and I notice the effect but my psychologist says that Prozac normally stays in your blood for a few days so it yours is similar hopefully that will be the case! In future you could label the days on the packet, my comes pre-labeled.
