Admin Announcement Site upgrade on November 15th 6am (Pacific Standard Time)

Hey everybody!

We are getting our site (Xenforo specifically) upgraded next week Tues Nov. 15th. It will increase speed for loading the site, some cool new features we can roll out in the next coming months, and nice new look, and upgraded security for the site.

This will cause some downtime for a good portion of the day, but then everything will be up and running.

I wanted to announce it here so nobody is surprised when it happens!

I've attached some screenshots of the site so you all can see how it is going to look after the upgrade.

I would love all and any feedback you have from the look of the new site! See the screenshots here below.

Personally I prefer the narrower message width that the site now has, much easier on the eyes i.e. to read.

Well one cool improvement is being able to comment on a specific post to keep the conversation in one place, instead of having an unorganized conversation with somebody in the entire thread and having to sift through messages to find the person replying to your post.

I am commenting on the post and it stays on there instead of at the end of all the posts.

I somehow doubt it's related, but for the past few days I have noticed the Search function has behaved oddly. Ordinarily, the results page allows you to sort by either relevance or date. Currently it doesn't, and it seems to favor posts from the mid 2000s.

Is this is a known issue? Is there somewhere better I should ask about this?

I have been on another site that uses this new upgrade, and am I am very pleased with it. It loads very fast. It's also very pleasant to look at.

This should be fixed when we upgrade next week.

It looks like meaningful avatars will be a thing of the past. A circle doesn't allow any picture to show very well. This was proven when Facebook started putting profile pics into a circle. Plus, the circle looks very small.
Photos are always in a square or rectangle. Why reduce it to a circle?

With some adjustments you can find something meaningful to fit in the circle. I did some experimentation and came up with the picture I have now. I tested it in a circle and it looks very nice.

Feedback… I am a developer at https://www.youtube.com/rockytopva of a site now at 3.4 million views. I also diligently study the views and watch time. I will edit a video knowing the points where I lose viewers and try to keep their attention the whole video. With that said I find the following site most easy on my eyes (even though I am not Baptist)…
