And yet the Party if Obstruction is fighting him at every step. Exactly what they said they would do from the very first day.

The ONLY thing the Democrats have done in a year is obstruct and complain. They are the party of no.

And all this bloviating doesn’t negate that simple reality and it is becoming more and more recognized by the public.

Were you also unhappy when the Republicans were doing the same thing with Obama? I'm just hoping for some consistency.

Wonder where they learned that from.

Again... Who could have given them such a bad example to follow as soon as they got the chance?

The public has a notoriously short attention span. That and party politics takes precedence over a principled stance. People will cheer for their team even when they suck just to avoid agreeing with the people from the other team.

Whataboutisms. Hmmm.... were you saying Obama’s was ineffective as a President at that time, the buck stops where?

It’s a knife that cuts both ways.

I’m also just hoping for some consistency

I voted for someone other than Obama in 2012.

Are you saying the Democratic Party is so leaderless that they have to follow another party’s Example?

Are they rudderless, do they not have the ability to think on their own?

President Trump was at the time. Do you disagree with him that it is ultimately the President's responsibility what happens in the government he was elected to lead? Do you disagree with him that history will only remember who was the President at the time of the shutdown and not who the minority leader might have been or what party held the majority in congress?

No. You could try reading it again, though.

Exactly. It is almost impossible to see this “Schumer Shutdown“ any other way. Not when the Democrats chose Resist! as their slogan and vowed in public to overthrow the president they called “illegitimate“--again in public.

Since then we have seen a procession of different attempts, and this appears to be just the latest one in the series.

Exactly the same when Obama was in office and the government shut down.

You’re right. That’s all I remember. Obama’s wasn’t any better than Trump. Got it!

Got news for you, the Democratic voters will not be overjoyed that they have turned into the party of obstruction and their unwillingness to negotiate caused 9,000,000 children their health coverage

Even the media is calling it the Schumer shutdown.

Democrats throw tantrum and fillabuster because Chuck and Nancy want the President to look bad. What next? Are they going to hold their breath?

Well if the #FakeNews media is calling it the Schumer shutdown, we know it's the Republicans' fault!

Thanks for clearing that up!

:D

Because the buck stops where, now?

That's right, it stops with the President. Trump wanted to be the big man in charge, and this is just what comes with it.

So the shut down is the President's fault - then the resolution must be his victory

Oh, gosh! They called him illegitimate?! That's terrible!!1! Who could ever do something so disrespectful to our President?! I mean... who in their right mind would even suggest a president could in some way not be legitimate?

Since then we have seen a procession of different attempts, and this appears to be just the latest one in the series.
At least you're no longer calling it a coup. That's an improvement and I'll take it.

I'm glad the federal government is shut down because that means less damage for the time being that Trump and his administration can continue to do to this country.
It is encouraging to see adversaries become allies around here. Many Conservatives and Moderates join in agreeing with the proposition that we can do well if we reapportion monies that are normally wasted on unnecessary government bureaus to other agencies that we actually benefit from.

Oh, and Chuck Schummer gave the President more money for the wall. That is what's called a sucessful negotiation.
Is that actually the case? Or was it that Schumer promised he would agree to apportioning the money as has been one before(but not to actually spending it on the project)?
