The Democrats have no real fuss over what is on the table, everything should have passed, but they are unhappy and want a moment in the spotlight before other things are brought into the light...

This is watergate big...

Trump ended DACA and told Congress to fix it.

Congress put together a DACA deal that included funding for Trump's wall; this deal is what he professed to want.

Then he blew it up a few days ahead of the vote. This didn't leave enough time to fix it. And so here we are.

Linking one piece of legislation to another is a mistake. When you have two unrelated problems, solve each problem in the best possible way without attempting to link them for political advantage. IMHO the blame for this impasse lies with the President and the GOP and I think most people recognize this.

Yep. Democrat=Insanity. Look at Pelosi, she cant even put together a coherent sentence. What's even worse is the people voting for these folks.

Did you have the same stance when Republicans were the culprits behind government shutdowns? (and even celebrated it as a good thing?)

Seems that seeds the GOP sowed are now spreading and the Republican voters don't like it one teeny tiny bit. It's funny to watch hypocrisy in action, though.

Got news for you, the Democratic voters will not be overjoyed that they have turned into the party of obstruction and their unwillingness to negotiate caused 9,000,000 children their health coverage

Even the media is calling it the Schumer shutdown.

Democrats throw tantrum and fillabuster because Chuck and Nancy want the President to look bad. What next? Are they going to hold their breath?

Even the media is calling it the Schumer shutdown.

Most media is presenting it as an open question: who will take the blame (in the eyes of the electorate)?

My money is on the party that controls both houses of Congress and the White House.

Except most people realize that the Republicans do not control the senate when the measure needs 60 votes to pass and there are only 51 Republicans.

A couple of Democratic Congress people tried that this weekend and were shot down with the facts.

Because the buck stops where, now?

That's right, it stops with the President. Trump wanted to be the big man in charge, and this is just what comes with it.

Tell me again why it is the Presidents fault?

Because when a deal was struck between both sides of Congress, the President poo-pooed it because it allowed people in from countries that he doesn't like. There was a deal that even gave him funding for his ill-conceived expensive useless concrete and rebar wall, so it was a win, but, you know, undesirable people might come into the country. Can't have them in here.

Yeah, ok.
Here's Trump speaking about the government shutdown during the Obama administration:

“Well, if you say who gets fired it always has to be the top,” Trump said. “I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top and the president’s the leader. And he’s got to get everybody in a room and he’s got to lead.”

He said that further down in history, “when they talk about the government shutdown, they’re going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time.”

“They’re not going to be talking about who was the head of the House, the head the Senate, who’s running things in Washington.”
