Jesus talked about this: Matthew 6: 25-34.

Of course we could worry, because the problems you can't handle God can, and there is a lot we can't do, but God promises help, this looks like a human alone without God sort of philosophy.

The mother of Samuel, worried a lot about having a son, she asked God in the temple.

Worry might also be called apprehension or even fear. Often when one considers unwelcome possibilities or even probabilities, one can feel the gloom of worry. Being able to recognize the potential for negative outcomes can be a useful first step towards taking action to correct or manage problems.

Worry becomes a problem when the alarm it produces continues past motivating action. As it can give opportunity to fear to immobilize or torment one, it can be helpful to consider that the bible says that complete love casts out fear. To better understand this one can look at the biblical definition of love (1Cor 13:4-7) and see that it is pretty much selflessness. One might see the Christian life as transitioning from the selfishness of the flesh to the selflessness of love with Christ as the example.

The greater the transcendent selflessness (Christ-likeness) the Christian obtains on his road to maturity, the less purchase fear and worry can find in him.

I was thinking about this, we may know something is wrong, but there is nothing we can do about it. Yet we will worry anyways.

What advice do you have?

My personality in general is to worry prior to a crisis - when I see the crisis coming - yet in the middle of any real crisis I have an unnatural and absolute calm.

Generally what I do is take my concerns and worries first to God, and then seek solutions.

When your working towards solutions you don't have as much time to worry in general. Rather, your developing a plan and then executing that plan - which has the benefit of often being able to avoid crisises a good portion of the time.

Worry in general is just because you feel helpless.

Why that emotion is alleviated in Christ is because we trust in His promises so we don't have to fear uncertain futures, and we have the peace He gives to us in our trials.

And like it or not the things that cause us to worry are trials. I notice that God never gives you the solution until it's nearly in the "too late" category. I see this as God teaching us to trust Him...

His ways are never in our time, but even so He never allows us to fall, though we may falter.

My husband never worries, but he's been saved much longer... It's just learning to lean on Him and trusting Him more and more as we grow in Christ.

What has worked very well for me, lately, is trust Jesus to be the Judge of what to do. Then discover what He has me do.

Jesus created all things; so He is creative . . . able to do much better with a problem, than we might consider doing.

So . . . even if there are things we can do about a problem . . . still trust Jesus to handle it and guide us about what is our part.

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
. But the LORD delivers him out of them all."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Psalm 34:19)

Worry is a lack of trust in God, and I don't think any of us have fully grown up there. God's word tells us to be anxious for nothing, but in all things to make our request known to God and the peace of God that passes all understanding will be ours.

Worried, keep praying and seek his word to build your faith for faith cometh by hearing the word of God.

I forgot to mention the worry I'm talking about is about anything to do with the world. Could be even about money

Have you read about Joseph? Genesis 37-50 >

Joseph's brothers hated him and sold him into slavery in Egypt. Then his master's wife got him put in jail for what he didn't do.

But God used all that to set Joseph up as ruler of Egypt so he could help to save many people's lives. He got much more than he lost, plus he did good to many people.

This is because God is all-loving; so He not only helped Joseph, but God used Joseph to bless many people.

And Jesus on the cross had such a horrible situation, but God used that to bring His Son Jesus to much more than Jesus lost in this life; plus, we see now how God uses that crucifixion of Christ to love and bless many people; because God is all-loving.

But we in worry can isolate ourselves from others and caring about others, and from God and His creativity.

Could be even about money
God's word and prayer and obedience with good example have done so much more and better than money can in the hands of humans. Money and worry can keep our attention away from God and all He is able to do.
