Should people be allowed to worship a god of hate?

Well religious freedom means you can worship what and how you want, but it doesn't give you the right to break other laws in doing so.

For example, if someone's faith in Moloch required them to sacrifice babies, that obviously wouldn't fly. Same if someone claimed that their religion demanded they go out and beat up Christians or Jews, or any other group of people.

Very few Kali worshippers around today, and IIRC, few if any genuine Satanists would agree that they worship a "god of hate".

A god is a deity at least according to myths. A being that is beyond human, immortal and has a nature. Attributed to the god and it's nature are qualities and in this case hate, murder, suicide...

And the Christian God is love and light and the Hindu gods generally similar.

Satan isn't really a god of 'Hate' so much as a spirit of rebellion which may or may not include hatred at any time.

A sensible society always clamps down on that which will bring strife and disorder.

Not that our societies are necessarily so sensible anymore, given how often they give rein (and indeed reign) to the decadent.

And like I said, I doubt the average genuine Satan worshipper considers Satan "a god of hate", so I don't really think it will be much of a problem.

Yes, that's what (some) Christians believe about him. I don't think that's what Satan worshippers believe about him.
