With all of the money being sent by average citizens to rebuild Haiti, it should have been accomplished. I believe that Haiti has been long oppressed because it is one of several nations and entities (especially because they are black) that kicked French booty, including Mexico. Correct me if I am wrong. Anyways, the money goes to the Red Cross, which is corrupt into itself. Money sent to the Red Cross should have gone directly to not only Haiti, but to parts of the Southern US, namely because of Hurricane Katrina.
No, the Haitians should not get over it as it was once was a wealthier nation that have all but have most of their power, money, and autonomy all but taken and destroyed by US policy and French revenge. It doesn't hurt that much that has happened with Haiti is also quite recent, but it doesn't matter; there is no way anyone should just get over what happened to anyone, whether they are African, American, Jewish, Irish (I read how badly the English treated and viewed them), or An Australian Aborigine. That was my point all along. As a black American, I am not sure if reparations in the form of financial compensation on a mass scale to us will benefit us as much as it would benefit say, the Haitians. Correct me if I am wrong as I am no historian.
