I, for one, despise alcohol and think it should be illegal. When I drink, I feel sick and dizzy within minutes, and it makes me tired. If I consume too much (like three or four beers), I feel intense pain in my upper stomach. Even worse is the fact that I feel like a complete train wreck the next morning.
But never mind what I think. Let’s look at the facts instead. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that over 3,000,000 deaths (or nearly 6% of all global deaths) result from alcohol. Drunk drivers cause countless car accidents, some of which end in serious injury or death.
You don’t even need to be a Christian to realize that alcohol is intensely sinful and the source of much destruction. Just look at all the evil that it causes.
What do you think? Should we Christians support Prohibition? If you’re opposed to making alcohol illegal, explain why you support such a wicked beverage.
