First they didn't want a Jewish Gay man speaking, now they do not want a woman speaking and are threqtenening violence again.

That would be up to Berkeley to decide. Coulter has a right to free speech, but that right does not extend to forcing organizations to allow her to speak at their venues.

It's a university. Administration sets the rules. Perhaps the conservatives that welcome her could find another venue?
They have said they are going to make time for her to speak. It's non-issue at this point.

Then if you turn away an invited speaker because a group objects. Speakers would never be able to come.

Which speakers that are allowed to speak, are up to the powers at be. Same applies for conservative christian universities and or churches, they choose who gets to speak at their venues.

Who invited Ann Coulter?

Okay. Just want to clear something up. The woman you're talking about, Ann Coulter, has said repeatedly that women shouldn't have the right to vote. She's supported invading Muslim countries and forcing their citizens to convert to Christianity. The Jewish gay man you mention, Milo Yiannopolous, has said on video that grabbing a woman's breasts without her consent isn't sexual assault, claimed "the Jews run everything," and argued that women should only be allowed to make up "five to ten percent" of students in the maths and sciences, "and perhaps medicine and law."

Why didn't you mention any of that? You're giving the impression that some people don't want to give them a platform because Coulter is a woman and Milo is a gay Jew, when the actual reason is that they're both fascists. You should edit your post and apologize for misinforming people.

Why didn't you mention any of that? You're giving the impression that some liberals and leftists don't want to give them a platform because they're a gay Jew and a woman, when the actual reason is that they're fascists. You should edit your post and apologize for misinforming people.
.

Horse hockey. How do you feel about those who promote the open killing of police? The rappers who are filthy and call woman all manner of nasty names

Why don't you mention them when they were welcome guest in the White Hous during the last seven years?

Pot. Meet kettle.

Fascists, huh? When did either of them suggest or support changing from a republic to fascism? Furthermore, why does having either of their views justify violent opposition to hearing them speak?

He's picking people who's artistic creations feature things which don't necessarily mean they are publicly supporting them. The examples you used are people publicly supporting those positions. I think there's a vast difference there.
That's true. Rappers probably aren't a big threat to civilization, while Milo and Coulter use their status as political/media figures to promote an organized mass movement (the alt-right) that sees most people on Earth as sub-human. Still, I agree with Simply Put that artists shouldn't use their art to denigrate women or threaten police. They should use it to defend minorities and establish democratic socialism.

This is the way I took that statement but I could be wrong.

Because it makes it look like the school doesn't want them speaking there because the school doesn't want to offend Muslims. Women, gays, Jews.

Are you inentionally distorting the truth?

Whatever reason Berkeley has to not let her speak, it obviously has nothing to do with Ms. Coulter being a woman.

Should Berkeley apologize to Coulter? They have extended the invitation.

Constitutionally, she has a right to say what she wants, regardless of who agrees with her message or not, because the First Amendment permits that. As for the rest, that's for the free market, aka Berkeley, to decide whether she should be allowed to speak there or not. My two cents on the matter is that if they allow people from the other side of the aisle to speak and use equally divisive rhetoric, she should be extended the same courtesy, but I'm not Berkeley, and I can't make that choice for them.

The free market doesn't apply to Berkley. It's a public institution and, as such, can't deny people their First Amendment rights without an extremely good reason.
