Should a Republican host the Oscars?
How unthinkable! Having successfully divided the American people, it wouldn't make sense of the same people now to treat all our citizens equally and with respect.Should a Republican host the Oscars?
Definitely, Penn Jillette (or a Penn & Teller combo).Tim Allen.
Maybe also Dennis Miller or Jeff Foxworthy.
Or how about a nice Libertarian compromise with Penn Gillette?
I doubt a lot of right wingers would appreciate Penn Jilette. For example, he is an atheist and quite vocal about his views towards religion.Definitely, Penn Jillette (or a Penn & Teller combo).
Miller's humor is just a little too weird to attract an audience.
Not my problem.I doubt a lot of right wingers would appreciate Penn Jilette. For example, he is an atheist and quite vocal about his views towards religion.

I'm sure republican comedy has improved significantly since the 2020 election. That's factually true so far as his personal views are concerned, but he doesn't make his comedy routines be a regurgitation of them in the manner of Stephen Colbert and some other late-night types.
Besides, if the question was about someone being capable of hosting who is not another in a long line of liberal entertainers, Penn Jillette, a Libertarian, certainly qualifies as do a number of other comics who are known to be or thought to be Republicans.
Just like democratic comedians couldn't believe their good fortune with trump. With the likes of Joe Biden in office? Most Republican comedians probably can't believe their good fortune!
Yeah. That's probably fair to say. Of course, his main failing was that he has a funny way of talking. And then there's the hair. But Biden offers any comedian just sooo many more opportunities!Just like democratic comedians couldn't believe their good fortune with trump.
