Thanks. I hope she wins the election. The Left tends to only empathize in one direction, but Christians need to empathize in both.

I empathize with people who wear silly hats and those who don't wear silly hats.

that makes no sense whatsoever unless you mean empathy suddenly stands for excluding minorities from society.

1) Do you understand what France has been through?

2) Do you care as much about that as you do your agenda?

3) If not, why is your compassion one-directional?

1) france has been through some stuff and it has also put people through other stuff as well. don't act as if the nation is somehow innocent in all things.

2) i have no agenda. not even whatever one you are trying to stick on me.

3) my compassion isn't one directional kid. intolerant people have had this new shtick of whining that people won't tolerate their intolerance. whine whine whine. boo hoo hoo. people like le pen try to dress up fascism and white supremacy in a new suit but and say they're respectable now. it's the same thing the mafia used to do with donations to the neighborhood and so on so that people would look up to them instead of seeing them for the criminals they were.

Another sad day. I do hope it does not swing the election for Le Pen, that would be a terrorist victory.

It seems that her response comes across as a little too angry and aggressive. Fillon seems to be the main beneficiary. That would suit me fine as he is the only one of the candidates I would vote for if French. France needs a calm wise head to lead it through its current crises not a boy socialist, an angry fascist or a deluded Leftist

Well I agree about melenchon, and Le Pen. Either Macron or Fillon would suit the uk in terms of Brexit.

Wait so having the guy who said that terrorism is just a fact of life wouldn't be a terrorist victory?

Do tell what france has done which excuses this.

Christians need to empathize with those who wish to suppress religious expression in public?

I'm probably the last person anyone would label a Dominionist, but seriously?

Saying that theft is a fact of life is not a thief victory.

did i say they did anything that excuses this?
nope.
but they have done a lot of things over the years to set up these situations and now they are reaping what they have sown.
You....

Ok..

Let me see if I get this right.

You didn't saying that France did anything to deserve this..

BUT they've done a lot of things that brought this down upon them.

Is it really so hard to say that murdering civilians is bad without saying, BUT A LONG TIME AGO THEIR GOVERNMENT DID BAD!

It comes off as terrorist apologetics.

shrug
not even remotely my point.
my original reply was to the other poster somehow making it seem like the French nation were somehow blameless in all things like perfect little angels.
i was pointing out that they are not as a nation.
and no it is not a long time ago it is still happening right now.
if you mistreat a segment of your population. deny them the ability to procure jobs, housing. do nothing as members of that segment are bullied and even continue to oppress them at every turn.
then you don't get to act surprised all of sudden when people who belong in those segments suddenly start acting out their discontentment.
do the terrorists have a right to do this? of course the answer is no.
are they justified. of course not.
but nothing occurs in a vacuum.
and doubling down on oppression is suddenly not going to win people over to them.

In the face of the terrorism, death and chaos in France, it's those who aren't angry who are acting improperly, not those who are.

1) You exaggerate the death and chaos and misdiagnose its causes. It has little to do with immigration but a lot to do with integration for example. Relatively few people die in terrorist incidents.
2) Self righteous anger only gets you so far and mainly does little to resolve the crucial problems of economic inequality, lack of opportunity, historical legacy and a failure to engage with the extremist versions of a false religion in a way that challenges people to see more and move on out of it into the real world

Sorry but just like theft, fraud, murder, speeding, terrorism is a fact of life in big cities. For example in the UK for the 30 years of IRA bombings.

Good example of ignorance I am afraid. You want Le Pen to win but the Charlie Hebdo Magasine is sceptical Leftist and atheistic. It has consistently opposed Le Pen and what it regards as the racism of the Front Nationale. It has published blasphemous antichristian material also. I am all for freedom of speech and did not care about the Mohammed cartoons but like the French nightclub attack where the band were playing Satanist music sometimes you understand why something is a target without condoning the terrorists for attacking it.
