Are we doomed to who we are? Sheep or goats?

Maybe we should ask are we happy as servants or leaders, in control and just willing
to meet a need.

Jesus is the beatitudes lists the characteristics that mark His people
Poor in spirit, mourning, meek, hunger and thirsting for righteousness,
merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, attacked unfairly for righteousness,
attacked unfairly for Jesus's words and standing.

I think this may speak more than we dare realise.
Some of the people I respect the most have these traits.

I wondered some time ago when a leader pulls other apart with sharp words,
dominates and dictates their presence, are they not thorns and thistles, not
something from which ones heart can be fed and uplifted.

It has given me pause then how to respond and to share when others come
with provocative stances. But maybe this is actually all that is required, because
the answer to know Jesus is to know Jesus, and we just need to shine. Amen

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.
John 10:27-29

All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Matt 25:32-34

Our Apostle Paul says "we all once" "were by nature children of wrath, just as the others." (in Ephesians 2:3). So, if we are sheep now, once we were goats.

Jesus can change a goat's genes . . . and nature :)

attacked unfairly for righteousness,
attacked unfairly for Jesus's words and standing.
And rejoicing because we are attacked "for righteousness' sake", Jesus also says, in Matthew 5:10-12.

But in case someone can get your goat, you need to get that goat flesh out of you, so no one can get it; and get the Lamb of God in there, instead.

"nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:3)

In my imagination I still can tear other people apart; so I need to get much more real in Jesus. Thanks for the reminder :)
