Yes I have read the bible, got 100% marks in all the scripture exams and went to church twice a week and then realised "what a load of rubbish" it all was, that is when I was saved... saved from the crap that spued out from my vicars mouth! I cannot comprehend how you lot cling to such a ridiculous myth, ledged, fairytale - wake up, be good people because you are, but stop hiding behind a stupid book and stupid buildings that take all your time and money!

And before you ask, Im happily married, have two gorgeous children, a great job helping others, a wonderfully full, funny, sexy and fulfilling life... perhaps that's what you lot are missing?

Stop living "false" lives... goodbye xx

In a lot of ways our lives are similar. I am happily married too. I have 3 georgeous children. Also a wonderful full happy sexy life. And yes I am a Christian....

Do you know where we differ? What if we loose these things? What if tragedy strikes? What if we loose everything tomorrow?
God forbid anything like that would happen but what if???

My deep happiness and joy come from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Nothing can take that away. My life is based on this relationship.

I have the assurance that He will be with me in good or bad. Something bad happens he will give me the strength to make it through! He will comfort me.

Jesus Christ offers us something not even our closest loved ones can.

Just something to think about, This is not Bible reading and religion I am talking about. This is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Getting to know him as Lord and Savior.

    God Bless,
    Roberta

"Stop living "false" lives... " a statement like that Soulgirl would require some description on your part before i could further discuss it, would my life be "false" to you, or to my wife, or to my Lord?
"This is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. " amen blynn, that is where growth is, in the presence of the Lord, not in a church building... it is the heart not the roof or position that makes one a man or woman of God.
Thank you westeez for emphasizing choice regarding "sex" in this thread, your post is a wonderful addition.
"Just let them know of God's plan. But if they choose not to, then we must respect their decision. It's their choice. I for one, believe that Gods plan is to wait till marriage, and I choose to follow God's plan." i too will agree that the tenents regarding purity in the bible are best for all men/women but it is not MY place to dictate your or anyone elses' rightousness, in the bible it says that some mens sins go before them (in the open) and others follow after (in secret)... i agree it is not my place to judge!
without knowing me, or most if not all others here in this thread Soulgirl, how can you surmise that your sex is "fulfilling" while ours is not? i would greatly difer :D
"dont try and tell me that you dont look at peoples physical flaws and say "yuk", because we all do... " do i?
"We need to know absolutely EVERYTHING about somebody before comitting our whole lives to them... surely? " you sound unsure ;) . i wouldn't expect it possible for me to know "absolutely EVERYTHING" before marriage, my wife and i are growing together, in an everchanging world. but i can say one absolute without question! The deep love i felt and now do feel for my wife began long before i shared her bed and we became one in the eyes of God and man (read: made love :D )
God bless you Soulgirl, you are in my prayers, the Grace and Peace of Christ Jesus make their face known to you...

Let me first start by saying that I'm glad you’re living a good life. As I said before, I refuse to condemn people for having sex before marriage, even though I believe it's God's plan. Everyone has a free choice, and we must be tolerant and respect each other’s decisions. I hope that you will also respect the choice of people who choose to wait. Now I just want to make sense of your message.

it all was, that is when I was saved... saved from the crap that spued out from my vicars mouth!

What crap that spued from the vicars mouth? Is it possible that you can remember anything specific? If so, please provide it.

I cannot comprehend how you lot cling to such a ridiculous myth, ledged, fairytale

Of course it is an assumption that Christianity is myth, legend and fairytale. I personally believe there is good evidence for Christianity.

wake up, be good people because you are

Thankyou. From what u've told me about your family life, you appear to be a good person as well :)

but stop hiding behind a stupid book and stupid buildings that take all your time and money!

Why is the Bible a stupid book? Why are churhes stupid buildings?
As for the time and money bit, well, it certainly doesn't take all my time and money. I enjoy going to church. And I give some money for it pays for various projects run by the church which I feel are important. These projects include welfare, paying the pastors/ministers/priests or whoever the leader/s of the church are. These people run programs and do tasks which I feel are important, such as counseling people with various problems and running evangelism programs which introduce people to Jesus Christ. Now, of course many people consider this a waste of money, but I sincerely believe that Jesus is the savior of the world and I can honestly say that I want to give money to introduce people to him. It's not as if the church forces me to pay money. Many people I know go to church, but never give any money, however I choose to give money and I feel good about doing it!

And before you ask, I’m happily married, have two gorgeous children, a great job helping others, a wonderfully full, funny, sexy and fulfilling life... perhaps that's what you lot are missing?

I'm honestly glad that your living a good life, and that you have a job where you get to help others. But I don't get the statement 'perhaps that's what you lot are missing?’ I am only 17, and I’m not married or have a job myself. But I know many Christians who are also happily married, have gorgeous children, a great job (sometimes their job involves helping others), and live a wonderful full, funny, sexy and fulfilling life.

Stop living "false" lives... goodbye xx

I’m glad you care about us Christians enough to offer advice. But I don’t get why you think we are living false lives. I know, personally, I am living life they way I want to. We all choose how we want to live. You live the life you want to live and I live the life I want to live. Anyway we both have good lives but obviously different beliefs - Have a good day!

*rolls eyes* I would like to know where everyone gets the idea that Jesus was in love with Mary. Can you show me the bible verses? And the first place I saw that was the not so accurate movie about Jesus's life where Satan was in COWBOY BOOTS!!

And I think the convictions on the validity of the Bible could maybe be a part of one's conversion to Christianity. We accept the Bible's own statement that it is "God-breathed" because we have faith. That faith comes with the acknowledgement of the Lord as Savior. At least that is what I think. I could be wrong :)

I feel that if you want to argue points of Scripture, you might want to read it first.
