DL,Today's America in general, there is more racism from the blacks towards the majority than there is from the majority towards the blacks.
That's why if you have a country singer utter 'lets not fight among ourselves, lets go kill some blacks', there'd be an uproar. But apparently it's not the case with the rappers. Do you see Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson lining up outside the record company?
When a black student can score 200 points lower on the SAT than everyone else to get into same college thanks to affirmative action, I don't hear anyone screaming racism. Where are they?
The history of slavery is not the cause of the black community today. Go to the black neighborhood, and see the fatherless kids running around the street corners. That's the problem: the lack of family upbringing, the lack of responsible men.
What stops a black person from succeeding in America? A plan and hard work.
I'm not racist because I have a color TV at home.
This is a tactic you and the other Trads seem to revel in. You love saying that others have "essentially" said something about you when they have done nothing of the sort. You do this to divert attention. It's pitiful. When I have to call you a racist I won't do it "essentially."Both you and moicherie have essentially called me a racist because of my comments.
This post reminds me of a line from a noted Caribbean poet: "Stupidity looks so good, just like paint on rotting wood."The history of slavery is not the cause of the black community today. Go to the black neighborhood, and see the fatherless kids running around the street corners. That's the problem: the lack of family upbringing, the lack of responsible men.

It sure does.... sad er coming from 'Christians' explains a lot I can see why we were not wanted back in the 40's the mindset has not died.MVA, that last post of yours says volumes.
Of course official figures back up your fictional claim of more racism from blacks to the majority? The average rapper, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson does not represent all black people living in America you are going to have to do better then that. You convienently forget the talk shows that have been addressing this problem did you watch them?Today's America in general, there is more racism from the blacks towards the majority than there is from the majority towards the blacks.

I think there is a lot of validity to what you say. For instance my daughter who is sixteen likes to listen to rap. I never have liked rap just from a personal taste of the way it sounded but after I actually listened to what some of these charcters were saying in these rap albums I forbid her to listen to it at all. These guys are putting out some of the most vulgar, obscene and disrespectful narratives I've heard in a long time. Especially some of the things they say about women is off the chart bad. I think she is still listening to it behind my back but not in our home. I used to listen to Elvis Presly, the Everly Brothers and many more at the time when I was a kid and my dad didn't like them either but at least Elvis and the others didn't use the "N" word in their songs or talk about "F"ing this and that or disrespect women.
Anyway if it had been a white boy saying the things that this black boy was saying on this so called "song" they would probably have him nailed to a wall some place.

There are rock groups who claim connections with Aryan parties etc, they get less publicity but they do exist. And the lyrics of rappers does not negate the situation regarding how black people were and are generally percieved by white America, your response and mva's prove my point. (You think sinless perfection means ignoring racial injustices on your doorstep do you and spouting such tosh about rappers? Please give me a break!) Do you think the New Orleans situation would have been handled differently if the majority population where white people? Are you telling me white flight no longer exists in society and in the church?I think there is a lot of validity to what you say. For instance my daughter who is sixteen likes to listen to rap. That may be for some. No doubt. However, this white boy had no parent playing golf with the Dean, had no program helping him get into college, had no parents paying his way, and still owes $40,000 on his student loans 15 years after taking them out (not counting the thousands of dollars I would pay from working hard all summer and from working hard during the school year). I was not one of those white kids that came from 'privilege'. The grass may seem greener on the other side of the fence, but broke is broke no matter which yard you're in.As for affirmative action for every black student who you say scores lower on their SAT tests how many white students get in because they parents came over on the Mayflower or plays golf with the Dean of the university?
'the blacks' - there is none so blind as a Christian who cannot see his own racism in his use of words.....I remember the NAACP had an actual ceremony to burry the 'N' word. But I think they forgot who use the 'N' word most often: the blacks.
Let's not forget about Hurricane Okeechobee. There are rock groups who claim connections with Aryan parties etc, they get less publicity but they do exist. And the lyrics of rappers does not negate the situation regarding how black people were and are generally percieved by white America, your response and mva's prove my point. Its all well and good talking about immigration but when you open Pandora's box don't expect it to be empty.
Nor is my experience those of most blacks in this country.I was not one of those white kids that came from 'privilege'. The grass may seem greener on the other side, but broke is broke no matter which yard you're in.
And working for the church for over a decade didn't exactly provide the means to pay them down either!
What about Hurricane Okeechobee?Let's not forget about Hurricane Okeechobee.
but broke is broke no matter which yard you're in.
