• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello, I am wondering about how God wants me to deal with an issue of justice.
I have been wronged seriously, with no real way to prove it.
I know to pray for my enemies from my heart. In truth, I know not to hate them, just what they did. I can manage that.
However, it is the injustice, that they get away with it and could do it to others as well.
I know God wants authorities to punish the lawless. What do you do when there are no authorities punishing, catching these people? What does one do when they know something is wrong, should do something about it, but can not? Why would God not choose to intervene until it is too late? What does God want someone to do,or handle, extreme violations that go unpunished? How can I change my heart when truely it is wanting very much to have them put away and be vindicated for what was done me? How does one heal such wounds? Thanks for your response.

moving this to Struggle forum.

um.. from what Paul said in the bible, we're to give righteous judgements; we're to love our enemies...
you're praying for them, which is a hard thing to do, and you're already fulfilling part of being a child of God in one way, by expressing love and forgiveness.

i don't know your situation, but if it's something that is so big that can bring harm to other people, maybe one would need to stand up.. but one should pray more about this before taking action, for God will answer, depending on His timing.

You need to be able to forgive these people for what they have done to you. I know that this can be hard, but true forgiveness will be very healing for you. Ask God to help you forgive..he will.

As far as justice. The Bible says that avengence belongs to God. When someone wrongs one of God's children, I believe he will "settle the score".. if you will.

I know a lot a times it seems like God is just setting back and not doing anything. However, you just have to put your complete trust in him. He will take care of things in His time.

Of course, keep praying about the situation.. keep taking your petiton before God.

God often allows hardship to come our way in order to teach us, to refine us and to help us grow. When other people offend us, we have a choice - to forgive or to seek revenge. The choice we make will affect our future spiritual development and our potential for growth. Revenge is rarely "sweet" and that the desire for revenge usually eats away inside of us, consuming us and doing us more harm than the one who harmed us in the first place. By seeking revenge, we are also allowing other people to control our lives, and we live according to what others think of us or say about us. If we can learn to let go of offences others commit against us, we thereby free ourselves from being controlled by others and their attitudes towards us.

There are many passages in the Bible which teach us the benefits of forgiving others. The story of Joseph is a good example. Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery in Egypt, languishing in an Egyptian jail for three years. Later, Joseph rose to become the Prime Minister of Egypt. When his brothers came to him for help during a time of famine, it would have been very natural for Joseph to take revenge on them at that point. Instead, he chose to forgive them and help them, he restored his relationship with them. In this way, Joseph not only won blessing for himself but also opened his brothers' eyes and helped them see God again.

In this sense, forgiveness is a more powerful weapon than revenge. God is a God of love, full of compassion, slow to anger and quick to forgive.

I am a firm beleiver of forgiveness but it depends on what that person did. I am not saying go buy a gun or anything but I would suggest you try and find ways to outlet you anger or it may build up to the point where you cannot control it any longer. try to find positive things to focus on or you will go crazy always thinking about it.
