  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

We all know the reason for the delay, but it doesn't matter, Harriet is coming and you can't stop it.

Why not just have American monuments / national parks on currency and avoid all these stupid controversies about who is and who isn't on our money?

This isn't a controversy except for those feeling some kind of way. They've changed the faces on American currency before, it's only an issue now because of one person's admiration for a slaveholding killer of Native Americans (the real Americans).

But where do you draw the line? Jackson, aside from the racism and genocide stuff, was a pretty good president.

IIRC, Washington and Jefferson supported slavery and they are on our 1 dollar bill and nickel, respectively.

FDR created the internment of Japanese Americans and is on our dime.

IDK about Hamilton and Franklin, who are on our 10$ bill and 100$ bill.

Racism is deeply engraved into this country's history and you can't put alive people (who just happen to be forward-thinking) on currency.

I think not having people on currency would be the best option.

Why not have frequent changes? Why not honour all matter of citizens on your money?

I agree that parks and monuments are great too, but I can guarantee someone's going to complain about that too.

My question is why not the $20 bill? Harriet Tubman did more for this country than Andrew Jackson could ever do. If you consider her work as an abolitionist and suffragist, Jackson is prime for replacement.

1st of all Harriet Tubman is not alive... she died in 1913.
2nd of all you are basically trying to make a point that since things have always been bad then there is no point in attempting to change it but if you do change it don't change it to people who might represent better morals than those already present and put scenery on there instead.
that just sounds ridiculous on it's face.

I find it amusing that Jackson would be against the Federal Reserve Bank that uses his portrait on their money.
