• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Scruples

Hi! New game here! You answer the question with a true or false, and then post your question for the next person! Let's keep the question like a Scruples type!

Have fun!

If you were serving a roast to company for dinner and dropped it on the floor right before serving dinner, would you still serve it?

No, I would explain what happened and then either carry them out or go get something to eatt instead!

If you had someone bake a cake for you and then company came! When you serve the cake would you take credit for the compliments or would you tell the truth?

I would tell them it was homemade but that I didn't bake it.

If you went through McDonald's drive-thru and they gave you something extra, would you turn around and take it back to them?

Yes, I would...rather my daughter would make me feel guilty until I did!

If a friend stopped by with a gift for Christmas and you hadn't planned on giving her one, would you accept the gift and say thank you or would you accept the gift and explain that she was quicker than you in buying presents and that you hadn't found the perfect gift yet?

I would accept the gift and say thank you. :sorry:

If you were booking a hotel online and could get the room for $5 less by claiming one adult instead of two, would you do so even though there would be 2 adults staying in the room?

No absolutely not! We are to always speak the truth in our hearts! If we are false in the one thing then we will certainly be in other things!

You are driving along the road and see a man and a woman arguing! Suddenly they start throughing fist and fighting! Would you call the police or drive on and forget it thinking it is none of your business?

I would probably call the police.

Your church is having a fellowship dinner following the morning service. Do you help set everything up during the service or skip the service and do it then so that everything is ready whe service lets out?

Hmmmm...ok...I don't do this, but I have worked on Sunday School Curriculum that needed handed out after church. I try not to be in that predicament, though.

You are given too much change at the drive through...do you take the money back into the place of business?

I generally count it before leacing the window! You never know when you may be short changed as well!

I wouldn't say anything, but I would most likely be saying it in my head!

Two close friends confide in you about each other...do you tell each what the other said?

I would keep the their confidence and use the "inside" info to help restore the relationship.

If you knew that a friend's husband/wife was being unfaithful, would you tell the friend?

It depends on the circumstances of the relationship with the friend! As a pastor, I would confront the unfaithful first! If they continue then I would confront the friend as well with witnesses! As just a friend, I don't really know if I could answer that without more information!

Your driving down a highway and come to a stop sign! On the corner is a man with a sign that says! Homeless and hungry! Do you give him some money? Suppose you have seen this man several times in the last few weeks and he does not appear to be missing any meals! Do you give him some money?

Oohhhh...a tough one. If I knew without a doubt, then I would find a way to approach the friend. Yes, I would, but I don't know how I would tell her.

You are invited to you in-laws and your parents for a holiday get-together at the same time. Both sets would be upset no matter what decision you made...what would you do?

My husband would go to his parents, and I would go to mine.

Your mother in law has a coffee maker that she has to work with a knife (because it's broken). You buy her a very nice, and expensive coffee maker for a gift. But, after several months of going to her house, you notice she's still using the one that is broken and doesn't seem to have any intention of using the one you gave her. You see the gift you gave her still sitting in the box it came in, in the garage. What do you do?

Nothing, but next time I would by her a chain saw! lol!

Your driving along the road and see some one walking with their thumb up! Will you stop and give them a ride or do you keep on driving?

Picking up a hitch hiker in L.A. is just asking for trouble. I would keep driving.

A young woman with a baby, who look homeless and destitute, ask you if you can spare some change as you're walking into the grocery store. What do you do?
