The parable of the workers in the vineyard, besides being an illustration of heaven, also serves as a defense if freedom of contract. Jesus does not attack the wealthy landowner, he defends the contract that he and the workers agreed to.

It also says to not store treasures on earth, that its easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into heaven and also celebrates the widows offering and turns over the tables of the money-lenders in the temple, where they were furthering their business interests in a place of God, all showing up the hypocrisy of greed, one which applies to Capitalists.

It's not gross greed to be successful. I don't like Facebook but do you really think Mark Zuckerberg is motivated by gross greed?

Except that perspective oversimplifies the history of a company like Facebook.

He came up with a platform everyone wanted to use for many years, he earned every penny he has.

Facebook was largely an accident, but also seemingly an inevitability. Overcrediting Zuckerberg with being some kind of business genius is more rooted in capitalist mythology than fact.

I never said Zuckerberg was a genius. I said he created a product that everyone wanted to use and made a lot of money doing so. It doesn't make him a genius, it only means he had a sense of what the market was looking for and gave it to them.

Our rights are not bestowed on us by the state, they are of God. Even the founders argued for the Bill of Rights on that basis.

I guess nobody ever heard of a "frivolous lawsuit". Uncountable lawsuits against the Pledge of Allegiance have been thrown out as frivolous.

Apparently conservatives, Christians, libertarians are oppressed groups. What dimension is this writer living in?
