LONDON (Reuters) - Almost 400 scientists have endorsed a civil disobedience campaign aimed at forcing governments to take rapid action to tackle climate change, warning that failure could inflict “incalculable human suffering.”
...

“We believe that the continued governmental inaction over the climate and ecological crisis now justifies peaceful and non-violent protest and direct action, even if this goes beyond the bounds of the current law,” said Emily Grossman, a science broadcaster with a PhD in molecular biology. She read the declaration on behalf of the group.

Reminds me of the history of King Canute, who stood at the sea shore and commanded the tide not to come in. He ended up with very wet feet and legs!

And here are 500 scientists staunchly saying just the opposite.
A group of 500 scientists and other experts have penned a letter to the UN declaring that there is no climate crisis and that there needs to be an open discussion on the issue of climate change. “We urge you to follow a climate policy based on sound science, realistic economics and genuine concern for those harmed by costly but unnecessary attempts at mitigation,” they write.

I sometimes wonder if "climate change" is just another way to collect huge amounts of money for companies who benefit from this staged situation.

They're advocating for peaceful demonstrations. God bless them for caring enough about the planet God created & the folks who live on it to do all they can to push for action to protect it. God bless Pope Francis for his advocacy too. I'm thankful to God that he blessed Pope Francis with intelligence and reason. It's shameful that so many Christian folks have embraced ignorance but he has done just the opposite. That makes me stand proud as a Catholic. The Catholic Church had an ugly history of ignorance of science, well that has been turned around.

Out of the roughly 500 signatories, only 10 self-identified as climate scientists. The fellow behind it all, unsurprisingly, got his bread buttered by the oil industry having worked for Shell. The ignorant letter was filled with quote mined, cherry picked data.

Besides, if you look past genesis the message is really not that hard to understand. It's the salvation of mankind that is the big deal, not the earth.

The Pope is not a man of God which is why he dances the dance of the world instead of preaching the gospel. What's advocated by the Vatican now adays, aswell as that of the synod is plain old pantheism.
This is utterly false.

As you have probably seen here already, the Vatican claims this a misinterpretation and not true.

As if they are believable for as much as one second. This will stick with Francis as long as he's not revoking it himself. This isnt the first time this happens Michie.

I don't deny that at all. There are too many apologists in the pope's entourage but we have to be charitable and respect his position even if we are not particularly happy with how things are unfolding. The pope himself said he welcomes criticism. I am not so sure how sincere he was in saying that with all that has been reported, but as Bette Davis said, "fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride." Where else are we going to go? Jesus promised the gates of hell will
not prevail against His Church.

Call him out. We have our lady of Fatima on our side. I'm done sugarcoating heretics. At some point regular Catholics should have the guts to just face the facts.
We're dangerously close to living up to the protestant allegations that we're worshiping a mere man. Francis collides with orthodoxy time and time again. I mean, "by his own words and deeds he's being judged".

Not an ignorance of science. It is an awareness of corrupt governments and so called leaders. It is an awareness that the UN is an elitist organization with no empathy for the average working man and woman.

Remember Al Gore and how the left celebrated his message, yet accepted the fact he had a “ bigger footprint” which allowed him to have a giant house and to be chauffeured around in a fleet of SUV”s.

The same with Leonard DiCaprio and the other apostles of the left.

When I listen to a person speak and they keep throwing around the word “folk” it is often a guise to appear folksy but usually behind the folksiness is an authoratative individual.

The current “green initiative” is nothing but a front for socialism.

I think many Catholics, laity and clergy alike have called him out countless times. He does not seem to care. So what else are we supposed to do? Do some sort of Catholic impeachment? Those scenarios do not work in the Church. So what else are we supposed to do besides pray and educate ourselves on the core teachings of the Church??? Seriously, I'm asking...
