I have a copy of "Molecular Biology of the Cell" (second edition), and and adaptation of Haekel's drawings is on page 889. The accompanying text desribes common body plans and similar development among vertebrates - which is factually correct.. Since the text is old, I would hope that they have updated the figure.
THe text does NOT say anything about recapitulation. In fact I do remember my prof in the course that text was used in specifically stating that recapitulation was overstated. However, the general vertebrate body plans and development is similar.
