Hi,

I'm 33 y/o male from central Arkansas. I'm interested in all things politics, philosophy, and religion. I grew up Baptist and went wayward. Most recently I have attended an United Methodist church. I'm still trying to figure out where all I'm going wrong.

Anyhow, I found this site while searching for an answer to: are 'scientia' and 'ginosko' one-to-one equivalents? Basically, I'm wanting to know if the latin 'omniscience' has a greek equivalent.

Just skimming over articles, scientia is distinct from cognitionis, seemingly, and ginosko is differentiated from oida, the latter being more facts, while ginosko is experiential type "knowledge".

And omniscience in Greek could be rendered as pantognosia, meaning the knowledge term in Greek can be further distinguished into other terms, like gnosis in contrast to ginosko or oida

A nuance would probably be better as to whether knowledge exists in a hierarchical structure or even if one can apply one overarching standard when some knowledge is more self evident than others, but often we can confuse knowledge with beliefs
