The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. I have a really serious question for anyone who will reply. I am scared because I keep having these thoughts of renouncing my faith and I'm afraid I could have because my feelings are indicative of the thoughts and plus I feel like I am falling away from God and all that matters to me is being right with the Lord through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Am I saved, I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour and I love him.
Thanks for the reply, my feelings are that when I get these thoughts they feel so real and they feel true.What do mean by feelings? Do you feel like the thoughts are true or something? Because I've fallen into the same trap before. I'm still struggling with it. I've had moments where I've had an intrusive thought and for a split second, it felt like I was even happy about it. But checking your feelings is also a compulsion of OCD. Feelings can lie and deceive. As for salvation worries this site has always been encouraging to me.

Ok so I read it and thank goodness I match up with everything and praise God and my savior and Lord Jesus Christ. I need to stop relying on my feelings but it's too hard some times.best thing to do is to concentrate on what you do believe.

to plug in the faith and look up the relevant scriptures.
everything in there that you can affirm (agree with) will help to set your feet on the solid ground of faith and belief, as opposed to the quicksand of your feelings.

I really appreciate it and I need to focus on God and Jesus and scripture.This is a common hurdle that many Christians (myself included) face in their walk with God. You are not alone. For many Christians, doubts creep in and many times our desire for God fluctuates as we journey along. Several of Christ's chosen 12 disciples had doubts and fears and Peter even denied Christ three times. Yet Christ pursued Peter and made him the leader of the early church. Please remember that God does the saving and without God you would not have any love for Jesus--but you state that you do. God loves you and as his child you can do nothing to change that.

Also remember that faith is not a feeling...
I strongly recommend that you speak with a pastor or Biblical counselor...
