Political cartoons, memes thread rule change

How are you going to have a thread with political cartoons and memes that don't offend somebody? You might as well have a non-political memes and cartoons thread.

Come on.
You have a point... the site is so diverse and do is our political climate. Taking a solid position alone can be cause to offend.

Pretty sure there's a difference between offending people and flaming.

Also, how about posting some positive memes instead of just attacking the "other side"? That would be something novel.

Its all subjective. People are going to get their feels hurt no matter what. Its politics; its contentious by its very nature. If one can't handle it, then he should log off instead of running to teacher.

I agree with this, too. Our message (religious, political) goes a lot further when presented from a position position rather than a negative one.

Yes, but if we all had even a shred of respect for others, perhaps we don't have to make it as polarizing as it is. God said He hates those who cause division/strife among others (Proverbs 6:16-19) and maybe that is a good line of reasoning to follow. We can reach separate conclusions without demeaning others.

Christians do this too, and to each other. There is a verse that says we are to be of one mind and one accord... and most Christians take that to mean we are all supposed to look, act, and think alike. That isn't what it means, it means we are to be one in function... in other words, despite our differences we are to work together for the good of the whole. Our culture has decimated that concept and extended it out into politics as well... most unfortunate. Peace!

Problem is, what is demeaning to one person may not be so to the other. Its all subjective, and there is always someone who gets his feels hurt just because someone dares differ from them. On the other hand, there are those who love politics, love the strife and the battles and have a bit of a thicker skin.

If the heat is too hot, get out of the kitchen.

I don't disagree but I also believe the climate has been altered to become what it is today. Meaning... we SHOULD be able to sit down and have an adult discussion rather than me grabbing whatever tickles my emotional fancy and you doing the same... and then having us pitted against each other because we chose opposite positions on something. Generally people see the same problem in society but come to an impasse when it comes to how to solve it. Well, I am simply saying if we agree on the problem, why can't we make big people talk and try to come to a conclusion at least BEFORE demonizing each other and what we believe? It is like we go THERE first now, rather than have the discussion and then the falling away. :)

I think it's the moderators who gets to decide on how hot it is in the kitchen, not the person who wants it hottest.

No, it's not subjective, or at least not as subjective as you think. There's a difference between saying that Group A does some things that I think are crazy, as opposed to saying Group A are a bunch of crazy nut jobs.

Posting against an ideology is one thing. Posting against the people that hold those views is another thing altogether.
