Speaking metaphorically, just because the book is already written, doesn't mean we've finished reading it.

Well some already know the victory. Therefore this is why THE STORY is still being told while it is still todaySpeaking metaphorically, just because the book is already written, doesn't mean we've finished reading it.
There is no scripture to base this on this.
He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Rev. 20:10
The main thing that satan wanted to do is to keep God's Children separated from God forever. The only way he could have accomplished this is if Jesus had not lived a perfect life and shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins.
Satan wanted us never to be able to choose our new master (because of sin) which is Christ. He wanted all of mankind to remain in sin and that would have hurt God terribly.
Satan lost when Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of sin. Now we know that although satan has been given some temporary reign on earth for a time, he will be thrown into the Lake of Fire for eternity at the right time.
i understand what your trying to say from the scripture you gave . but that old serpent is already declared damned .he was never flesh and blood as us but already an eternal being and is so judged to eternal destruction in hell fire .My reply is in the quote...sorry, I don't know how that happened!
It says we may defeat him in battles after battles. But it says in Revelation that there's a final battle. That there will be no more tears and etc.. Because kingdom will be of God only. The Bible says in the letter of Colossians 2:15 that satan is defeated. But how is he still capable attacking the church, since he is defeated?
In this video it looks like satan is still very active even tho' he is defeated... How can that be?
batlle or not it remains the truth ..he is already defeatedIt says we may defeat him in battles after battles. But it says in Revelation that there's a final battle. That there will be no more tears and etc.. Because kingdom will be of God only.
Luke 22:53 Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.”
Romans 5:14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
Revelation 22:5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
Well satan does try to tempt Jesus for 40 days and 40 nights and if Jesus would have given into satan He would not have been the perfect sacrifice with no sin.Is there any evidence from Scripture that specifically says that Satan wanted to keep God's children from God forever and thus prevent Jesus? And I mean where it explicitly says that it's Satan.

Also, it was satan from the beginning who tempted Eve, who then gave the fruit to Adam.
God also calls satan the father of lies and His enemy.
But something that says exactly what I said, no, not directly.
satan means adversary .. he was the adversary i assure you.also called that old serpent and the dragon . astounds me how some seem to want to defend himIt was never said the serpent in Eden was Satan, just a serpent (the "Upon your belly you will crawl" punishment would have made sense if Satab could just shape shift). The only time Satan is mentioned of being the "ancient serpent" was in the Book of Revelation, which was heavily symbolic and was written thousands of years later after the views on God and Satan had shifted.

Well why does God specifically call him His enemy, the father of lies?It was never said the serpent in Eden was Satan, just a serpent (the "Upon your belly you will crawl" punishment would have made sense if Satab could just shape shift). The only time Satan is mentioned of being the "ancient serpent" was in the Book of Revelation, which was heavily symbolic and was written thousands of years later after the views on God and Satan had shifted.
Explain the thousands of years after Genesis was written part please. It's not "defending him", it's pointing out the history. Satan wasn't seen as the serpent until thousands of years after Genesis was written, given the time gap between the Testaments, and Revelation was the last part of the Bible and the last part written.

If you don't believe the Bible than you do not. Also, it does not matter how long ago something was written, God does not change, nor does the sentence that satan has been given by God.
Explain the thousands of years after Genesis was written part please.
Do you have your verse for the lying spirits?I don't get how Satan can be "the father of lies" if it states that in the Old Testament God sent lying spirits. God may have called Satan the adversary but that doesn't mean Satan was seen as "the one in charge of all evil", since that didn't seem to come around until the New Testament.
Many people in the Old Testament lived more than 200 years, but what is the point about there being time between the Bible again? Sorry I lost the train of thought we had going on this thread. It's estimated that Exodus was written around either 1445 BC or 1290 BC. That puts at least over 1270 years between the Old and New Testaments, which is still a significantly lengthy period of time. Not to mention that the Gospels were written several decades after Jesus lived on Earth.
Well think of it this way. There is God, angels and humans. Satan was the highest angel and led the rebellion against God and was cast out of heaven along with the other fallen angels and cast to earth. It's not "defending him", it's pointing out the history. Satan wasn't seen as the serpent until thousands of years after Genesis was written, given the time gap between the Testaments, and Revelation was the last part of the Bible and the last part written.
