Can someone explain to me the position of the American Anglican church on conversion, that is being saved. Becoming a Christian?

Hello, writewords.
There are a number of Anglican church bodies in the USA (as there are many different Baptist ones). The largest and best known of them is The Episcopal Church. I belong to one of the smaller ones. But in any case, the Anglican statement of belief that is part of the history of us all is the document called the Articles of Religion, more often referred to as the Thirty-nine Articles. Here is the article that deals most directly with your question.

Art. XI. Of the Justification of Man.

We are accounted righteous before God, only for the merit of our Lord and Savior Jeus Christ by Faith, and not for our own works or deservings.

It is further stated that the condition of Man after the fall of Adam is such that he cannot turn himself to faith by his own strength, but that God brings Man to Christ who, by his sacrifice, took away the sins of the world.
