Salvation, Mercy & James 2:13

in reading through James, a scripture says "for judgement is without mercy to the one who has not shown mercy." In your opinion how does this line is with us all being sinners (rom. 3:23) and receiving grace and mercy and forgiveness from god, leading to our salvation?

This does NOT mean that a Christian who has sometimes been unmerciful will go to Hell.

James 2:13 does NOT mean that a non-Christian who is MERCIFUL will GO TO HEAVEN

What James means is that those who are in Christ will show mercy to others. Of course, they won't be perfect. Christians still sin.

However, trusting in the God of mercy causes Christians to show mercy regularly (on a regular basis).

A person who NEVER shows mercy, or RARELY shows mercy, is NOT a true believer.

God will show mercy to those who are in Christ. His mercy is far superior to His judgment.

Mercy is much like forgiveness.

"Show mercy, and mercy will be shown to you," Our Lord said.

As the Lord's prayer says,

"Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."

Christ said to us,

"If you forgive, you will be forgiven.
"If you do not forgive, you will not be forgiven."

The Mathew version is even more sharp--

14 “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins."

We must turn, and forgive.

Grace gives us a chance to forgive. Much was forgiven to us, as in the parable of the Unmerciful Debtor. But that can be reversed as in the parable.

MERCY is an attribute and character trait of the TRI-UNE GOD. It is associated with His unconditional, undeserved, unmerited LOVE and GRACE.

Mankind should try to imitate God's MERCY in dealing with his fellow man...a part of the "Golden Rule"? The moral of the Good Samaritan parable:...>show MERCY to a strange "neighbor".

Matthew 5:7...“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

This is why we should always show mercy, and what happens if we do not.

A1: The spiritual JUDGMENT of who is a "true believer" is solely God's.

A2: God's MERCY + LOVE + GRACE is spiritually offered to ALL through His DRAWING/CALLING. Some ACCEPT. Some REJECT. God only FORGIVES "true believers".

A3: God's spiritual attributes are not RANKED. Each IS INDEPENDENT and stands alone as an ABSOLUTE SPRITUAL TRUTH.

The many attributes / character traits / nature of the TRI-UNE GOD which are found in the Bible and spirit-led writings!
