Salt reduction doesnt affect much in my life but the things that matters a lot is to stop eating meat and eggs and consume only vegetable.

What do you do for protein?

I don't see a report linked.

Salt is good to reduce though. It's one of the worst things for raising blood pressure.

It is, and drastically reducing it is the best way to lower it, which is hard to do as most people loooooove salty foods.

I dun really try to cut down on salt more on sugar thou cause I am vegetarian and its hard not to add salt on my food
For protein I mostly eat beans and nuts
I think it is good to differentiate between manufactured salt and natural salt such as Himalayan rock salt cause the former is the one causing the bulk of health problems nowadays linked to salt

I have often believed that restaurants cover up bad food with sodium. I treated the family to Outback Steakhouse and the baked potato was covered inside and out with sodium so big that it was crystallized. I had them take it back and ordered a potato without the salt. I have also wondered if they do not marinate their meats in sodium.

I find restaurants the biggest contributors to sodium in the diet.

The saltiest meal I ever had was at a friend's house. I could hardly eat it (I think his wife was trying to kill me).

Ugh. I mean I already know salt is bad, especially MSG. But in my case there are so many foods and things I can't eat or drink that I'm only really left with salty foods. Or spicey. Though salty foods make my acid reflux act up. So really its a lose/lose situation with anything I try to eat anymore.

oddly enough, I haven't salted, sugared or buttered anything I've eaten since Dec 27th, 2015. I've lost 170 pounds and gone from a 56 inch waist to a 36. And I'm STILL waiting for the "you're going to feel so much BETTER after you lose that weight!" I honestly don't feel any different now then I did then. :sigh:
tulc(on the other hand Mrs.tulc is happy so, that's good) :)

Sorry. Here's the link (one of many CDC "sodium" reports).

CDC - Salt Home - DHDSP

Appreciate it. I'll have a read through tonight.

Salt is one of those tough things to cut out because it's in so many foods.

It's really helpful over here in the UK that we have what's akin to a traffic light system on most produce; green being healthy amounts of that ingredient in relation to average daily intake, amber/orange being quite a lot, and red being a very large amount.

After losing 170 pounds, you don't feel physically better?
