I need some recipes for salad dressing.
with no sugar or starch or oil. Nothing too tart.
Michie, jump in as I know you have some with your expertise in food, etc.
Thanks everyone:)
In another subject
There is a sci fi movie on abc. It is one of those of the series like iron man, etc.
I missed the first half hour, shucks. I don't know which one if is but the hero uses a shield that is red white and blue but it doesn't look like cpt America.
Does anyone know which one it is?
It will be on my movie list to buy if I can figure out its name. No info from the station.
Some great special effects

You know, the only thing I can think of is maybe stone ground mustard, maybe some minced garlic and onion and rice vinegar with honey and whisk. The honey may ruin it for you though.

That sounds very good, maybe a smidgeon of oil, a teaspoon.
I like the sounds. Would dry mustard work. I don't know what stone ground mustard is. The honey might be okay just a little bit.
What amounts or just wing it? Water at all?
I knew you would have one
Thank you!

I’d do it to taste. You can buy stone ground mustard anywhere. It’s in a jar or squeeze bottle like regular mustard. Not sure how the dry mustard would work with a dressing with such limited ingredients.

Also dug these up just out of curiosity. It might serve as inspiration.

Ingredients
Tamari Vinaigrette
  • 1/4 cup tamari
  • 1/4 cup balsamic or red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1001 Islands
  • 6 tablespoons silken tofu
  • 3 tablespoons stone ground mustard
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
Agave Mustard
  • 1/4 cup cup silken tofu
  • 1/4 cup stone ground mustard
  • 3 tablespoons agave syrup
  • 1 pinch salt or to taste
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper or to taste
Strawberry Vinaigrette
  • 4 large strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
Creamy Italian
  • 6 tablespoons soft silken tofu
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon each: garlic powder, onion powder, oregano flakes, rosemary flakes, basil flakes, and salt
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
Sesame Umami
  • 1/4 cup tamari (optional soy sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 clove garlic
Hope this helps! :)

You can usually find these ingredients in the ethnic section. Agave, would be in the baking section in my area. And you can also order a lot of these ingredients on the internet as well. Just call around. They will direct you. To make hummus you need tahini and that found in the ethnic section.

One of them has hummus? I missed that one. And might past as I have an aversion to it from rumors of what it is, lol.
No none of the recipes have hummus. It was just an example.

Did you see the news tonight.
Very scary, I hope they are wrong.
I avoided the news today. Might check it before bedtime.
