....in the same time frame as the Trump impeachment inquiry. Pure coincidence I'm sure....

Beginning in early November, the Russian spy agency known as the GRU launched a cyber “phishing” campaign against Burisma Holdings to trick unsuspecting employees into giving up their email credentials so the hackers could gain access to their email accounts — once again entangling Moscow in domestic U.S. politics, according to Area 1 Security, a Redwood City, Calif., company.

Assuming this is true what exactly can one conclude?

OK they were what....trying to get inside information in regard to Biden and pass it on to Trump? How could you know it wasn't a set up to create the appearance that Trump and the Russians were in cahoots thus done to actually hurt Trump by intentionally wanting it revealed?

It seems you still hold to this thought that the Russians really love Trump. Why? I'm sure they have a respect for him for he has a reputation for being a stand up guy BUT is that the thing they really want? So how do you figure they really want to support him....if anything why wouldn't they want a more weakened Democrat one who never keeps red lines about anything. (as proven by Obama's red lines crossed in the middle east)

That's correct the Russians would rather have a democratic United States president. Much easier to pull the wool over their eyes.

The Russians want information to undermine American's confidence in their elections. That's been Putin's goal all along.

They don't know that we know all about what they know we know. We know they hacked into our computers because we found the evidence when we hacked into their computers. They hacked into Burisma's computers to plant evidence against Biden so when we hack into Burisma's computers we will find it.

Here is an article that does not have a firewall:

Russian hackers targeted Burisma amid impeachment inquiry, cyber firm says

The reported attack came during the time when Congress was grilling witnesses during hearings on whether Trump had abused his office by pressing the Ukrainian president to investigate the Bidens and Burisma......

Area 1 said the campaign to infiltrate Burisma resembles the hacking campaign against Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee in the lead-up to the 2016 presidential election and involves the same unit of the Russian military, known as the GRU. The hacking efforts both involved "phishing," in which attackers use fake emails to trick their victims into clicking on malicious links and giving up access to their data.....

"The timing of the GRU’s campaign in relation to the 2020 U.S. elections raises the spectre that this is an early warning of what we have anticipated since the successful cyberattacks undertaken during the 2016 U.S. elections," the firm added.

Biden's campaign seized on the news late Monday.

"This proves that both Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin understand the true stakes of this election,” Andrew Bates, spokesperson for Biden for President, said in a statement. “Donald Trump tried to coerce Ukraine into lying about Joe Biden and a major bipartisan, international anti-corruption victory because he recognized that he can't beat the Vice President. Now we know that Vladimir Putin also sees Joe Biden as a threat.”

There is real concern that the Russians could inject things into their server in order to help Trump.
Trump got caught when asking Ukraine to investigate....Russians stepping up to the plate to help Trump??

...and the Trump campaign using information floated by the Russians....ie. Ukraine interference in the 2016 election. GOP House members have already demonstrated they will gladly repeat Russian lies if it benefits them politically...

And you're right. It boggles my mind that Trump opposers just never seem to think things through to logical conclusions. One party leader stands by red lines which is Trump.....another party leader does not.....who therefore would they favour being the U.S. leader. The one who caves which certainly isn't Trump. So where's this Putin is trying to help Trump come from? It seems a complete denial of reasonable thinking.

And who is this "cyber firm" you speak of....Area 1?

Think you'll find it's founder is democrat donor Oren Falkowitz who is working with the 2020 Democrats. To be taken seriously? And not a conflict of interest? The link below brings some proper perspective of how one should consider all this.

Founder of Area 1, firm that alleges Russian hacking of Burisma, is working with 2020 Democrats

The final paragraph of that article is an elegant albeit ironically unaware summation of the cuurent state of play in the USA:

"Maybe Russians really have breached Burisma’s internal systems. But I’m not going to take it as fact on the word of a single U.S.-based Democrat-run security firm which, for all we know, might have created this controversy as a publicity stunt."

There is is. Not only is this company in the horrible position of being US-based. It's also Demcorat-run, and what we mean by "democrat run" is the owner gave $1337 to a bunch of democratic candidates. I mean, he also gave it to some not-Trump republican candidates, but that's even worse.

How utterly horrible for your country, and by extension the rest of the Western world.

As if the Washington Examiner is unbiased....and Laura I is not credible.

Democrats press for details on alleged Burisma hack

Although some experts questioned the technical validity of the Area 1 research, other cybersecurity firms offered conditional support for aspects of its conclusions, namely related to the hacking activity from the Russian group known as Fancy Bear or APT28, which also was widely blamed as the culprit in the 2016 DNC hack.

"While we cannot independently validate all the claims regarding a possible compromise of Burisma, the infrastructure that was detailed in the report is consistent with the operations of APT28," John Hultquist, senior director of intelligence analysis for FireEye, said in a statement to POLITICO.

In the Senate, Democrats and Republicans alike said they weren’t surprised by the report on Moscow’s actions....

Russia's GRU military intelligence service, which Area 1 blamed for the assault on Burisma, “is very good and they have been consistent, they have been very active,” according to Sen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.), who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee’s cybersecurity subpanel.
The Gang of Eight learned of this from the news media.

Why would they side with Trump, who has :
    - publicly sided with Putin over US intelligence agencies.
    - given Russians information that was classified at the time in a White House meeting.
    - continuously taken positions that align with Russia's interests.
    - diminished the US standing with it's traditional allies.

What seems like a "denial of reasonable thinking" is that Putin would prefer a Democrat in office.

I tend to agree with them more times than not as compared probably to where you get your news but let's go to this.....what if the Russians genuinely committed a hack. Or what if the Europeans or the Brits or some other nation committed such? Evil and wrong? Arguably yes. But if they came out with genuine documented evidence of wrong doing does their wrong doing in extracting the information do away with the wrong doing of who it might involve which we can assume would be Biden? Should true information always get flushed down the toilet?

And also you might claim they're doing it to help Trump? Really? Why aren't you considering they're doing it to hurt EVERYBODY including Trump? How can you know they're not being sloppy in their technique on purpose knowing their intent is to flare up the American people to put a question mark on the President who's a stand up guy one they'd like to see removed? Like chess...they give up a small pawn of doing a certain illegal act even desiring to be caught in order to put their main opponent on the board in check. Is that really too hard not to see? So why should the American people fall for the scam of what could be a camouflaged way of making an attack on the President? Unless of course they want to be deceived and not see through the deception.
