This is a very real threat, and likely the reason Trump has so many leaks. If he has the capacity to do anything for Russia or start up any secret pro-Russian program, then Deep State America's efforts against him would fail.
So, by constantly exposing him, you keep him locked in, without exposing to the world that the American Presidency was rigged by Russian spies. Which would demoralize Democracy and everything it stands for, including the seat of Free World power.
