Rush Limbaugh Dead at 70

The conservative firebrand host and political commentator died Wednesday. Rush first announced he was battling advanced lung cancer about a year ago, but it took a turn for the worse recently ... resulting in him missing some shows and his producers asking for prayers.

Limbaugh, who started his radio career in the 1970s, is best known for hosting "The Rush Limbaugh Show" ... which has been in national syndication since 1988 and made him one of the premier voices of the conservative movement for 3 decades.

I just hope people who disagree with the life and choices of Limbaugh will treat this message with the same courtesy showed towards Larry Flynt.

He was a heavy cigar smoker. But to his credit, I think he overcame his Rx drug addiction.

I never cared for the man. But he certainly had a huge following, including my parents.

My condolences to his family and fans.

I was not a fan but like any of us, he had a family and loved ones who cared about him and I would extend my condolences to them like I would for anybody else.

One of Limbaugh's Undeniable Truths plays very different in the Trump (and blessedly post-Trump) Era.

31. The culture war is between the winners and those who think they're
losers who want to become winners. The losers think the only way they
can become winners is by banding together all the losers and then
empowering a leader of the losers to make things right for them.

Hmmm.. I haven't heard his radio show besides the few times Howard Stern would take a swipe at him. I did find his appearance on Family Guy amusing and liked how he was willing to poke fun at himself. Other than that I'm pretty clueless about him.

Regardless, he probably lived a fulfilling life at least from his point of view.. still 70 is a tab bit young. RIP.

What can I say? Rush was a horrible influence on the country. He's one of the guys who made it "ok" again to talk about other people in the vilest and most dehumanizing terms.

Leaving his politics aside, which I often didn’t agree with myself, he understood that success isn’t dependent everybody liking you. Which is more than can be said for most politicians.

He fought against cancel culture for 30 years...

Indeed. He was among the few who still denied that tobacco was a carcinogen. Problem is cancer does not care about anyone’s feelings.
