It came out in the news today that Roy Moore's challenger Doug Jones, defended a man with ties to the KKK Fox News reported.

Doug Jones is pro-abortion, which does not fit in a conservative state such as Alabama.

    Doug Jones keeps looking worse.

A lawyer is obligated to defend his client to the best of his ability.

I believe that abortion should be legal, it should be safe, it should be available and it should be the woman’s informed choice but most important of all --- it should be rare.

    Consider the *shudder* alternative.

Maybe he did not know the client's past.

That's true. Although private attorneys can choose what cases they take. They usually don't refuse given the money involved.

His client was reportedly a denier of the holocaust, as well. He would not get my vote.

I wouldn't vote for his client either.

He also....It doesn't appear that he has a particular fondness for KKK members.

But the 63-year-old Democrat has built his campaign largely on his personal history and legal record during his stint as a U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, where he successfully prosecuted two KKK members linked to the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in 1963 that left four African-American children dead.

    abortion should be legal?

    Here's the guy he defended.

In one case, he defended Tom Posey, the infamous figure during the Iran-Contra scandal, who had ties with the KKK and Holocaust deniers.
Posey was a well-known Alabama right-wing extremist activist. In 1983, he founded the Civilian Military Assistance (CMA), a paramilitary group that first provided arms and training to rebels in Nicaragua, but later expanded its activities and gained notoriety in 1986 after holding 15 illegal immigrants at gunpoint after they tried to cross the border from Mexico, the Arizona Republic reported July 8, 1986.
Alabama Senate hopeful Doug Jones defended man with ties to KKK, Holocaust deniers

Jones represented Posey in 1987 amid allegations of illegal arms shipping to the Nicaraguan rebels fighting the socialist government at a time when such activity was prohibited as the U.S. was not officially at war with Nicaragua. He got off the charges thanks to Jones' representation.

Remember that, the Iran-Contra? All the cases related to that were high profile cases.

Which a high powered private attorney would no doubt take.

I asked a Harvard Law grad Army lawyer if she would defend Nidal Hasan the Fort Hood shooter. She said even the most evil people deserve good representation.

It's not a liberal or conservative deal with these lawyers. They just believe justice for all.

He's not obliged to take anyone on as a client, however.

The question probably should ask how many deaths to come will be on his head if he is elected.
