Whether it was literally legit or not, the courts have pretty much spoken save for maybe 3 appeals still out there, that's what matters in America. Biden won. Republicans need to focus on midterms now and move on.

Yah... This guy was only ever afraid of losing his position of power. He was trying to glom onto it at all costs; the American people be damned. It was only ever about Trump, it turns out. Who could have seen that coming from the guy who has only ever known this kind of opulence?

Who knew?

The truly sad thing is that it probably wasn't even about power (he'd have been in a much stronger position if he hadn't pulled that nonsense which was always doomed to failure). It was simply that he has a pathological inability to admit he has ever failed at anything or isn't the best at anything.

Because of that childish flaw multiple people died, America was more deeply divided than ever, and an entire national party embraced a giant lie. For one man's ridiculous ego.

^ EXACTLY. That's the absurdity of it: that (shall we say) easily misled people were willing to go to bat for an oafish clown who clearly doesn't give a whit about them.

It's really pathetic more than anything else.

That's surprisingly good for Scott (R-Corruption). I wonder what the catch is...

My guess is a potential 2024 run for president. If you are facing Trump in the primary and the belief is the election was stolen from Trump, it’s really hard to argue why Trump shouldn’t have birth right claim to run again since he was cheated last time. However if the belief is Trump lost, you have a built in argument that Trump is a loser and a new direction, you, is needed.

This is why Cruz and others plan makes no sense to me:

Step 1: Show undying support for Trump
Step 2:
Step 3: Defeat Trump in 2024 Primary

What is Step 2?

Given that this guy would have been far wealthier if he would have stayed out of politics, the decision to run for POTUS, when his entire life would come under microscopic scrutiny, was an abysmal failure of epic proportions.

Heck, it's been pointed out to me that trump would be far, far wealthier if he'd kept his incompetent hands off of the vast fortune his dad left him and invested it all in the stock market and gone and played golf his entire life.

As it is he's pretty much ruined most everything associated with his name and is likely to pay dearly.

They're clearly hoping he doesn't run again or dies in the meantime.

This brings a certain Southpark episode to mind...

Irrespective of what Chris Wallace asked, Scott's reply was the following:

“Joe Biden is the president. We went through the Constitutional process.”

That wording seems only to say that because the Electoral College voted as it did and all challenges from Congress or in the Courts came to nothing, then the process was indeed followed and Biden was duly inaugurated.

That's not exactly the same as saying the election was won "fair and square." Not as most people would understand the meaning of the phrase, anyway.

Wallace asked a question and Scott gave a direct answer rather than a five minute whine about widespread fraud that didn't happen.

And the response was that Biden is the President. So?

Isn't that obvious to all, even those who think he benefitted from vote fraud?

How much “vote fraud” has been found in Texas or South Dakota?

Saying the issue had become a "kind of a loyalty oath for the Trump party," "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace asked Scott directly: "Did Joe Biden win this election fair and square?"

Absolutely," Scott replied. "Joe Biden is the president. We went through the constitutional process. Joe Biden won the election."

What is exactly the same as saying the election was won "fair and square." is answering "Did Joe Biden win this election fair and square?" with "Absolutely".

I disagree. They need to continue pushing the idea that voting is a sham and that only the gullible would bother to vote. Spread that message far and wide to GOP supporters. Make it another purity test for membership - people who vote are supporting a corrupt system that stole the election from Donald. Keep preaching that there's no point in republicans voting because it doesn't matter.

I can only hope.

I hope you are joking. We need Republican party come to it’s senses along with their voter and start acting sensibly. What you suggesting might be good for democrat for short term , but it will not be good for the country.
