Fox News teases interview with Rick Perry saying Trump was God's "chosen one' to be president

Which is pretty funny, when you look back at some of Perry's comments about Trump as recently as 2015.

Rick Perry 2015 said:
Let no one be mistaken – Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded

Rick Perry 2015 said:
"But most telling to me is not Mr. Trump's bombast, his refusal to show any remorse for his comments about Senator McCain, but his admission that there is not a single time in his life that he sought the forgiveness of God," he added. "A man too arrogant, too self-absorbed, to seek God's forgiveness is precisely the type of leader John Adams prayed would never occupy the White House."

Rick Perry 2015 said:
"Donald Trump was born into privilege," Perry said Wednesday. "He received deferments to avoid service in Vietnam. He breathes the free air thousands of heroes died protecting. And he couldn’t have endured for five minutes what John McCain endured for five and a half years."

Rick Perry 2015 said:
These people built nothing, created nothing," Perry said. "They existed to cast blame and tear down certain institutions. To give outlet to anger. Donald Trump is the modern-day incarnation of the 'Know Nothing' movement. He espouses nativism, not conservatism. He is negative when conservatism is inherently optimistic.

Funny how 30 pieces of silver (or a plumb cabinet post) can make people's principles change..

I think Rick Perry's kiss of the ring with his declaration that Donald Trump is "the chosen one" is a Hail Mary to protect himself from a kiss with the pavement after he's thrown under the bus.

Andrew Favorov, a senior executive with Naftogaz, Ukraine's massive geopolitically important state-owned oil and gas company, has stated that Rick Perry along with a circle of businessmen and Republican
donors made efforts to install new management, out of avarice rather than diplomatic benefit. Their plan was to then steer lucrative contracts to companies controlled by Trump allies. House Intelligence Committee is now in possession of video and audio recordings from Giuliani associate Lev Parnas. Favorov is cooperating in a US Justice Department probe of Giuliani, and said Parnas and Fruman tried to recruit him to replace the CEO of Naftogaz, which he described as a "stunning offer." These associates of Rudy Giuliani boasted of their ties to him and the U.S government and their intent to remove U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch. During his May trip to Kiev for President Zelensky's inauguration, Perry delivered a list of four candidates to replace the existing member of Naftogaz's international supervisory board. An unsettled Ukrainian energy situation makes it easier for Russia to convince the Europeans they can't trust Ukraine to move natural gas.

Because of fracking and expanding N. American natural gas liquefaction capacity, Europe has another source of natural gas.

When Dick Cheney was V.P., his company Halliburton got no bid contracts for Iraqi oil field services. Schlumberger employs 100,000 oil field service workers and should have been allowed to bid on the job. job. Halliburton was accused of over billing. It was a scandal.

Rick Perry is just another conservative/evangelical leader who has compromised his personal moral convictions to be in good political favor with Trump. And like James Dobson, Jerry Farwell, Jr., Franklin Graham and Pat Robertson, he has become another example of the hypocritical double standards that have permeated much of the Republican Party since Trump was still campaigning. Many conservatives have seemingly compromised their personal principles to gain political favor with Trump. The fact is, if Trump had won the election as a Democrat, then it's unlikely that we would be having this discussion.

Romans. 13 :1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God. 2Consequently, the one who resists authority is opposing what God has set in place, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.3For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the one in authority? Then do what is right, and you will have his approval. 4For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not carry the sword in vain. He is God’s servant, an agent of retribution to the wrongdoer.5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to authority, not only to avoid punishment, but also as a matter of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes. For the authorities are God’s servants, who devote themselves to their work. 7Pay everyone what you owe him: taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality. It feels like we're living the opening line of that old song. This seems so farcical my initial pre-Trump era instinct told me it was fake, but then I realized it's not at all.

If someone outside of Donald Trump's base posted a meme depicting him as a Neanderthal living alongside dinosaurs and building a wall that is obviously easy to climb over, thus rendering it an elaborate exercise in foolish futility, there'd be poutrage, but when a fan makes books about it, there's this sense of pride......

I spent part of my childhood living in a rural area where folks were proud of themselves for their racism & openly hated President Obama on account of him being black (none of my own family members felt that way). They became true devotees of Donald's when he started that racist & stupid as all get out, head stuck up the rear birther conspiracy theory that President Obama had been born in Kenya. I looked on some of their Facebook pages more recently - yes of course these are the type to still be using Facebook regularly, lol - and saw memes with Romans 13 on it chiding the folks who were disrespectful of the US president. Smh.

I'm sure that I'm not the only left leaning Christian who sees the irony of the Romans 13 passage only being popular and utilized when the President is a Republican and not a Democrat. We didn't hear it being championed by the Christian Right during the years of Obama's administration, but we did hear "May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership" from many within the Christian Right.

I doubt that passage would ever be used by conservatives if Trump was a Democratic President. In fact, he wouldn't be their champion President right now if he was a Democratic President. It's more likely that he would be repeatedly condemned for committing adultery and for womanizing, just like we witnessed from the Christian Right when Bill Clinton was still the President. We certainly wouldn't hear anything about locker room banter and macho talk or "I voted for a President, not a pastor!"

We repeat the same ages/paradigms because there has been a long campaign to hide the truth about who we are, and the truth about what this plane of existence actually is. If we all had the truth as a certainty (as opposed to parts measure of faith), then we would be a bit more justified in our incredible prejudices and ignorance.

So, of course Perry can act as an agent of redundancy and participate in the role of a figure we have seen in history. The upsetting part is that it doesn't look like people are actually stepping back and making a decision to be agents for one side or the other. What Perry implied said is sound, because it is supposed to be sound to some people.

It doesn't mean it isn't true either; I personally believe Trump is someone most certainly chosen by the Most High God to judge Babylon America for the things it thinks no one else sees, and how they treat their own as well as foreigners. In my mind, there is no doubt that is his role.

"We the People" chose Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump in the popular vote. If the election was decided by the popular vote alone, then "We the People" would have a President Hillary Clinton.

M-Bob

Well this is the revelation that Rick received:

Mighty convenient timing for any sort of divine revelation, especially considering what Rick has said about Donald in the past.
