A Restoration Movement Man Taught “Jesus Lives Today” (AD 2008)

Did you know that formerly men believed in the “Living God”? [No fooling!]

1) Vision of the Ages, 1881, B.W. Johnson (Christian Church):

THE GOLDEN AGE.

Ah! Who would not want to live when this happy period shall come. It was no idle dream when poets and longing ones of the nation sang of a blissful period in the future ages (#1), when the sorrows of the earth (#2) should give place to joy. The prophets of God have stood upon the mountain of vision and painted in vivid strains their views (#3) of the glorious coming day. Then the sword shall be beaten into the ploughshares and the spear into the pruning hook, and men shall learn the arts of war no more (#4). Then none shall hurt or destroy in all the holy mountain of the Lord. Then the lion and the lamb (#5) shall lie down together. Then shall the constitution of the human family be the golden rule of Christ, ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’ (#6); pages 342-42.

Johnson was the greatest expositor of Revelation, until me. But, he denied that, “God can count to three!” As God withheld His names, “I Am” and “He Is”; from 4,148 BC (Beginning of Time; Gen. 5) until He revealed them to Moses in 1635 BC; so in like manner, God has allowed men to believe “3 = 2” for over 1900 years, until AD 1992.
Three Ages = Pre-flood (to 2492 BC), and Old Heavens (to AD 77), and New Heavens (to End of Time).
Three General Resurrections = Anointed (AD 32), and Coming of Anointed (AD 77), and The End (of Time).
Missing the Resurrection in AD 77 caused Johnson to apply “New Jerusalem” prophecies (AD 77) to the “Millennium” (AD 1859). Here are his errors and truths:

#1) Expositors and psalmists both wrote of the Millennium during the Protestant Reformation - truth.
#2) This verse (Rev 21.4) depicted New Jerusalem, AD 77 - error.
#3) “The Coming Day” pictured both New Jerusalem (AD 77) and Millennium (AD 1859) – truth and error.
#4) “Learn war no more” (Isa 2.4) was about New Jerusalem (AD 77) – error. However, Campbell also stressed this fact in the Millennium.
#5) “The lion (Judah) and the lamb (Israel)” was about Jesus’ ministry in the flesh, and “turn the other cheek” and “put up your sword” – error.
#6) #6 was also about the Lord Jesus’ ministry in the flesh - error
Conclusion: Only #1 and #2 were about the Millennium. The false creed of “saving the entire world” is from the deep Dark Ages.

THE LAST STRUGGLE.

“And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go out to deceive (YOU) the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints (ME) about, and the beloved city; and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them (YOU) was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” – Rev 20.7-10.
These (1891) happy centuries shall not glide on for ever. Satan shall, when many ages have rolled away, be loosed a little season [Jn 16.16; Rev 29.3]. From some cause, that is wrapped in the darkness of the future, righteousness shall wane (YOU); wickedness shall revive (YOU); the great adversary shall in part regain his influence over our race (YOU). But it is cheering to know that his triumph will be short [Rev 20.3; 45 Years; Jn 16.16]. He shall be loosed only for a little season [45 Years]. Wickedness shall abound (YOU), but soon the crisis will come. Events shall move quickly [AD 2004-15]. The hosts of wickedness (YOU) shall gather [Church mergers]. The beloved city, the spiritual Jerusalem, the Church [Error], shall be surrounded, but in the day of her extremity the Lord will hear her cry for help [“Revival 2015.”] Fire from heaven will descend on her enemies (YOU) …” – pages 343-44.

That was a lot of faith in the Lord Jesus, expressed here by Mr. Johnson. He believed in your sad state of affairs. He knew more about your relationship with God than you do. This was because he believed the Bible while you deny it. Why did your church leaders ban Johnsons’ books? Why did they ban Alexander Campbell’s writings? What good can come from banning history? What good can come from banning Bible interpretation? “Pluck out your right eye!” See: Zec 11.17.
