Reputation on the Forums

I see that people have something called reputation. I've looked through the FAQ, and could not find what this was. Could somebody explain to me how this works?

I am still fairly new here but enjoy debating. That's probably not good, lol. I am not sure of what it is yet and not sure I want to participate in it at all.

There was a crash a few weeks ago when a whole bundle of features and about 330k of posts were lost. These included a rating scheme where you could score a member 1-5. That maybe what reputation refers to.
Erwin is doing everthing possible to recover as many of the site features as possible but he has made some changes. (Three cheers for Erwin!) Stick around and you will see there are continous changes and improvements being made.

the reputation feature is good in a way that you can write a comment about the person.

See the litte yellow clipboard at the bottom of your post, next to the report button? Click on that. (or under the profile button)
Also, rest the cursor on the little square next to your post count.
