That's an interesting thought.I remember reading an idea about how every person is born of the same conscience. When we die we simply enter another life, the only thing that changes is our body and our life situations which gives way to the diversity we see.

Choices? we don,t have many,
All the big ones are already made.

Most people already made that choice.
Most people lose their lives because of it - they perish.
Buddhism has similar views
No actually one of the precepts is that life is suffering (it comes from the four noble truths). It acknowledges that even a good life has suffering. Buddhism is more a focus on simply being a decent person - Right thoughts, Right speech, Right actions. The precepts can be used with any religion - my parents are Buddhist and the monk tells people - 'If you're christian then don't change that... just use the Buddhist teachings to augment your existing faith.'The little I have read here on CF about Buddhism it is about avoiding suffering.

Ya. I've never understood it in that way.Well, the impression I got from the little I have read here,

is that the focus is on suffering,
and how to avoid it.

I understand Buddhism to be about Dharma
of which learning to be "free" from suffering is one Third of the Jewels.
Suffering, as I understand it could be looked upon as greed with Duality built in.
So opening up to being free from greed in a non-Duality way, perhaps?
But this is my experience.

Being completely ecumenical in finding God everywhere I turn, a person can find me very slowly and with great focused intensity chanting "Yahweh" with interesting forces happening around. The same when chanting "Om Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram" as well as "La Illaha Illallah" and even "Om Mani Padme Hum". i like how Alan Watts talks about how we are already perfect and could dream and have everything we wanted but then we started taking more and more risks instead of constant perfection and that's how we ended up where we are today in this existence.
