Deuteronomy 5:
13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
14 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
You shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter,
nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox,
nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger
who is within your gates, that your male servant and your
female servant may rest as well as you.
15 And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt,
and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand
and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded
you to keep the Sabbath day.
Until one fully realizes the bondage of living in the world, as the world,
they cannot comprehend the life of faith, committing our trust to the Lord
as our ultimate provider. This must be a daily reality. The Sabbath is the
day to contemplate, and Remember, and be Thankful.
Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see,
and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein,
and ye shall find rest for your souls.
But they said, We will not walk therein.
The Law, the schoolmaster, leads to Christ, where
we find the true, eternal and spiritual rest for our souls.
Matthew 11:
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am
gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
