So did you watch the (full video) or is that just your opinion?
So what happens to the divorced ones in the Church that have remarried?
Are they wasting their time going to Church and headed for the Hot Place anyway?
Are you saying that there is no Repentance for divorce and remarriage?
M-Bob
I understand your view on this, Bob...and I used to go along with those that saw remarriage as dooming the couple, but something just didn't feel right about it.
At the same time I know exactly why people think that, Jesus said it was adultery, and ongoing adultery without repentance is just like any known ongoing sin, and it is know, as it's a commandment.
That said, I don't think some are being overly judgmental...they have no good reason not to believe it's not a damnable sin. They just don't know what else to think, and for good reason.
I'm still not positive what to think, but again something just doesn't seem right about dooming a person to live the rest of their lives alone for one mistake. Also Jesus himself said it was tolerated in the days of Moses because of the hardness of their hearts, and it was still adultery back then too. So if it was adultery in Moses day, was still considered adultery but was forgiven/tolerated, and we still have harness of heart these days, would it not be tolerated today? Jesus said it was sin both then and now, and he never actually said it would send someone to hell, however, all considered it could be more than just implied.
Anyway, just some thoughts on the matter and I'll watch the video and hope it helps with one of my major, still not satisfactorily answered questions.
I hate it when there is something this serious, and I'm not certain about it.
