Towns are preventing churches from being constructed or expanding in record numbers across the USA.

And I hope you are already aware of this, persecution against Christians is on the rise all around the world.

Check out an article about this, and the Pew Research Report that just came out.

One must also see that these are not centered against Christians but spread across all religions including Hindu, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, etc and in cases the percentage is greater for non-Christians in the US. Of the 51 cases where a Church was restricted from being built, 31 were Christian while 20 were non-Christian. With about 80% of Americans identifying themselves as Christian, the percentage of Churches being denied construction is much higher for non-Christians.

We also find other cases where non-Christians were religiously persecuted.
One of the cases cited Oklahoma attempting to ban Sharia law and in another a prisoner in New York was restricted from changing his religious designation from Christian to Muslim.
