Release International Prayer Shields, Nigeria, Viet Nam

By August, an estimated 50,000 Christians in Nigeria had been displaced from more than 100 villages now occupied by armed Fulani militants in southern Kaduna. Ask God to protect and provide for them.

In Nigeria, nearly 40 Christians were killed in northern Kaduna state in August alone. They included father-of-nine Bulus Joseph who stood up to the attackers to allow his wife and children to escape. They too were attacked but survived.

Please ask God to provide for the many displaced Christians in Nigeria whose situation has been made even more precarious by the Covid-19 pandemic. Release and its associate ministries have provided food aid to these vulnerable communities.

Pray that every family who receives a Bible through Christian workers in Vietnam will be touched by the love of God.

Pray for those who work under the radar in Vietnam to distribute Bibles. Pray they will find ever-more creative ways to spread God’s word in restricted areas.

Ask God to protect ‘Bao’ and ‘Chi’ who have spent 20 years sharing the gospel among tribal groups in the central region of Vietnam, despite repeated arrest and harassment.

Pray for believers in Vietnamese villages who find themselves in a tiny minority and who are often harassed, ostracized or even attacked because of their faith.

Read and agree with the prayer request above. So many Christians suffering in Nigeria. Send relief. Oppose those who oppose them. Release food and aid to them, and deliver them from evildoers. In Jesus name, Amen.

...and may your Gospel spread in Vietnam. Bless believers like ‘Bao’ and ‘Chi’, who risk all to spread the word of God. Deliver them from those who seek to harm them. Also bless and protect Christian villagers who suffer persecution. Meet their daily needs and deliver them from evildoers. Bless the ministries providing food and aid. In Jesus name, Amen.

Let us pray together!

Lord Jesus Christ,
we pray on behalf of Your children who are prosecuted in Vietnam.

Hear our voices, O God, in our complaints; preserve our lives from dread of the enemy.
Hide us from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers,
who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,
shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear. They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, "Who can see them?"
They search out injustice, saying, "We have accomplished a diligent search." For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep.

But God shoots His arrow at them; they are wounded suddenly. They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them; all who see them will wag their heads.
Then all mankind fears; they tell what God has brought about and ponder what He has done.

Let the righteous one rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in Him! Let all the upright in heart exult! Amen
