- DAILY PRAYER SHIELD
Pray for Pastor Bountheung and his family in Laos: police have ordered them to renounce their faith and pay compensation to relatives of a man who attacked Bountheung’s daughter and died in the ensuing struggle.
Officials in northern Laos interrupted a worship service in a tribal Prai village recently and warned the Christians that they would be arrested if they did not stop meeting – because ‘too many people are becoming Christians’. Praise God for church growth!
Many ethnic minority Prai in Laos have become Christians. Praise God that, despite severe persecution, most are reportedly prepared to stand firm in their faith.
Despite the Government’s campaign to close church buildings, the body of Christ in Algeria is reportedly growing rapidly, especially within the Berber community. Praise God!
On this, the Day of the Christian Martyr, let’s ask God to sustain believers in Algeria and across the world – and strengthen those whose loved ones have paid the ultimate price for their faith.
Three churches shut in October were among the largest congregations in Algeria. Pray that the Algerian church nationally will experience fresh unity and revival.
Pray for a change in Algerian law to end the deadlock over church licensing. Churches are currently required to have a licence for ‘non-Muslim worship’ – yet the authorities refuse to issue them.
