Speaking of misremembering, this all started when candidate Donald promised to release the files. MAGA was salivating at all the pedos who would be brought to justice. This all only became hilarious when Trump backtracked at a million miles an hour, due (almost certainly) to his presence in the files.
That it’s very likely nothing will come of either of these scandals doesn’t mean they aren’t scandalous.
So what's the importance of the files being released regarding Trump?

The left's Trump scandals are a dime a dozen.
No president has ever fulfilled all of his campaign promises.
Next time let’s elect someone with fewer than a dozen scandals.
No president (that I know of) promised to release information related to a long time friend who turned out to be a very well connected sexual offender only to then backtrack on releasing info related to his very well connected long time sexual offender friend when it started looking like the president might be implicated along with him.

No, they don't. Everyone of those reports gave credence to the premise of the investigation.
For example, Trump's National Security Advisor was convicted of lying to the FBI about his meeting with Russian agents. Roger Stone was convicted on November 15, 2019, of seven felonies, including lying to Congress, witness tampering, and obstructing a congressional investigation related to Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
The Obama FBI performed a political hit job against General Flynn. That is a fact. It is also a fact that Roger Stone was rail roaded by progressive liberal judges.
