I am truly sorry for your drastic misunderstanding about true spiritual matters!
The Lord God Almighty anoints believers all the time,
and sends them out into the mission field to reap the harvest.
You have no idea what an anointed believer is.
And you have no idea what Spirit-filled means.
I never said that all EOC members will miss heaven.
I never said that Jesus sent evangelists to attack the EOC.
I am sorry that you fail to see how different the EOC is from the NT church.
The NT church was always God's model for His church going forward.
However, the EOC and the RCC basically trashed Jesus' NT gospel,
doing away with the full gospel, let alone evangelizing using it.
"in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God
... I have fully preached the gospel of Christ." (Romans 15:19)
And the Protestant churches followed their lead.
For 1700 years, it has been all about man (not God) controlling the churches.
.
Well, first of all then, that means that Jesus lied in Matthew 16 when He
PROMISED that the gates of hell would not overcome the Church. If the Church succumbed to man's rulership rather than that of the Holy Spirit, then the gates of hell did overcome the Church and the truth was thrown out the window.
You state the same thing I heard as a Fundamentalist for so many years -- i.e., that right after the Apostles died, the Church was infiltrated by pagans and stayed that way until the valiant and brave Reformers changed it back to its original glory.
The only problem with that is this:
it ain't so!
If you would get your nose out of your Bible and read some of the sermons and homilies of the first Christian pastors, you would see that all the ideas of Protestantism which are distinctly different from the Catholic/Orthodox faith did not exist in the first 1500 years of Christianity, and they certainly were not taught by the Apostles.
The idea of "believer's baptism" did not exist. Baptism was taught as removing sins and bringing one out of death in to life.
The idea of crackers and grape juice as a barren memorial of Christ's death did not exist. The Eucharist was taught to be the very Body and Blood of Christ, giving union with Him, forgiveness of sins, and eternal life.
The idea of an "altar call" and "accepting Jesus as personal Lord and Savior" did not exist.
The idea of "forensic justification" as germinated by Luther and grown by Calvin, did not exist. Neither did its bastard child -- "once saved - always saved" which is an evil heresy that leads people to think they can live as they please and still go to heaven.
The idea of having no priests did not exist. The priesthood was created by God for the remission of our sins as we confess them to the priest and he offers the sacrifice for our sins -- the Eucharist. (Most people don't know that a proper confession must always be followed by reception of the Sacrificial Meal).
Sir -- you don't know. You are just like me when I was a Fundamentalist -- you think you know everything about the Bible and Christianity, yet what you do know only comes from anti-Catholic (and anti-Orthodox) bigots like Jack Chick and Lorraine Boettner who have written false and lying books about the Apostolic faith. We are trying to help you, but you keep closing your eyes, sticking your fingers in your ears, and humming to yourself to keep out the truth.
