Reading The Word...

I am fully aware that to grow in God we should read His word... But I find reading His word hard... My mind wonders and I miss half of what I read.. I need Prayer in this matter... Please pray for me that I will find enjoyment in reading Gods word... Pray that I will desire to read His word...

I am a fictional person, I find joy in reading fiction stories, I was never much for historical events or the news...

I desire to be more into the Bible, to read it with my heart and hear Gods words as I read the bible...

Well, something that has always helped me was to pick a single topic and study it thoroughly. Or, you could write an essay every few nights about what you have been reading, or even use some of the questions posed here on CF as a basis for study. That will certainly help you

Thank you... I will try that... Right now I am keeping a journal and writing about what I get from it... Then we get together in small groups and see what others got out of the same passage...

I guess another way of saying got out of it... Would see what God spoke to them during reading...

What I have done recently is to go through my bible program and copy and paste a few verses related to what I am struggling with, print them out, and then take them with me to work were in theory I read them on break and try to focus on putting them into action in my life.

I think sometimes I read too much, but not deep enough. A more narrow focus might be better. But it is all good because it is drinking in Gods word.
