We ask the Lord for many things and pray in confidence and hope He'll grant our request. But have you ever considered readiness when doing so?

Substance abuse, inappropriate contentography addiction, Job, the rest of it goes to everyone else with thankfulness. There have been times where possibly went without praying for a day, though try to make a habit of thankfulness every day, and ask for help with also being loving and kind to others though sometimes it can be hard to overcome ones self.

Have you ever missed a day?

Have you contemplated the possibility He'll say yes and answer your prayer?

Always has helped, sometimes somethings are my own effort in denying myself ; depending on the circumstances.

What if He brings the thing you've asked for before you're ready?

Shocked and thankful realizing it was Him that has prepared that, might take time to realize sometimes it is like that.

Have you ever experienced that? What did you do? If not, what would you do? Shocked, thankful.

Would you stay the course or throw in the towel?

If it is praying for like a wife one day, I don't do that... if someone was able to handle me it would be a surprise and would try to stick it out with them as long as we both learned about each other and accepted each other for the differences we had it would be good stick it out with them, and they didn't try and go out and cheat or anything like it would be amazing.

A deaf woman once told me, you never know how a person really is until you have lived with them.

Why would God give you something when you're not ready for it? I see people working things out in their own strength all the time. That doesn't mean God was the One who brought it to pass.

I'm not sure, but I certainly know that God has provided for my needs long before I have had the opportunity to even pray!

There have been times when I have been in considerable danger and I have been left totally and utterly awestruck by things suddenly happening where I have been made safe and protected.

In my life, I have been mugged twice. Once on a lonely road with no-one around to help. No cars and no traffic. A car came past and stopped with four men in it. The only car I had seen for some time. One of them got out and approached me with a crowbar, demanding I hand over my money. Suddenly, another car came past on the other side of the road and came to a halt and I heard my name being called out of the window telling me to run and jump in.

The second time was when I was walking the street late at night. Two men approached me. The man in front told me to hand over my mobile phone. The man behind me threatened me with a knife. I can't really explain what happened, but I just found myself walking away from them. I was puzzled when I looked over my shoulder because I found both of these men cowering behind bushes, desperate not to be seen. It was the last I saw of them.

Wow! Anthony That is intense, can’t say the same for myself other than being in a car wreck and me and friend living through it. That is amazing how you survived these incidents.

Somethings I believe we have to make by our own effort, thankfully the spirit is always reminding me what is good and right.

2 Peter 1:5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,

6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sounds like an encounter with an angel - one you couldn't see but they could. I think I encountered one once, at a time I was in a backslidden state and God's protective hedge was removed somewhat as he was getting my attention. I got mugged at the San Antonio Riverwalk. They shoved me into the canal as they grabbed my credit card. So I'm in this canal totally sopping because I went completely under & not knowing how I'm going to get out because all the slippery algae on the sides. Just then a really scrawny kid appears, asks if I need help and sticks out one hand. I was thinking no way this kid can help & it's going to be an impossible struggle, but I took his hand. Next thing I know, I'm literally out of the water & standing upright on my feet & not knowing how I got there. He disappeared off so fast I'm not even sure I said thank you. Thankfully God only had to up-the-ante a bit after that before I came to my senses.

We ask the Lord for many things and pray in confidence and hope He'll grant our request. But have you ever considered readiness when doing so? Have you contemplated the possibility He'll say yes and answer your prayer?
So in my life this question doesn't usually pertain to relationships, although there's been guys that have come back and that's sort of an unrelated lesson.
So one particular desire that I had gave me some lessons on this point years later. When I was in college, I didn't have the money but was so desiring to go to New Orleans during Mardi gras. Even though I was a Christian I think I was teetering on why I wanted to go. Many of my Christian friends said why would you want to go there? One of my Christian journalist friends went that year to write a story on the experience. There was news of all kinds of bad things that happened. The guy talked about how they were sleeping in their car wide awake worried about someone breaking in, a scary and not fun at all. and he said it was definitely not the place for me to be. I think that was 1999.

So anyways, I think I gave up on that desire and in 2004 I was sent for 3 months to Biloxi, Mississippi to study finance with the Air Force reserve. I made a plan to go to New Orleans upon days of research from the cell phone (back when data was really slow, I'm not even sure how I found what I found) I had for a bed and breakfast. It wasn't the same desires and it was off peak season so my bed and breakfast was only 40 bucks a night.

Right before, I decided to hop on my bike and also go to one of the casinos to see what one of the clubs was like. I met a really tall guy, 6'5, standing in the drink line. I said he was really tall and we struck up a friendship. He said his friends were going to New Orleans also. So not only had I made my arrangements and ended up with a nice rental Silverado truck for economy price, I also had a date.

It was a great incredible adventure going and seeing the sights of houses and doing a run around New Orleans and talking to some of the locals that live there. The French quarter was probably my least favorite memory with the guy and his buddies. Not because of them but how many people were drunk and horse poop in the streets.

I later realized what God was really protecting me from and that I never missed out on anything. The Lord wanted me to grow both of my faith and my independence (living on a remote island for 3 years and 1 year in a major city in Japan before) and also my need for approval before I could go. I'll never forget that trip, and the desire to go to Mardi gras is far removed from me. It also gave me a lesson of God's timing for further things that I desired in the future.

I'm asking God to get rid of the abdo cramps and nausea I've been getting all day and which is keeping me up all night. I bought some mebeverine from the pharmacy which seemed to clear it up and now it's come back again. Yes Lord, I'm ready for the cramps to go away!
