Most Say Democrats Hurt Themselves With Anti-Trump Strategy

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 29% of all Likely U.S. Voters think it’s better for the country if Democrats oppose the president in every way possible. Sixty-three percent (63%) say it’s better for the country if Democrats try to work with the president instead.

The findings are identical when voters are asked about the impact of the Democrats’ reported strategy on the fortunes of their own party. Just 29% say it’s better for the Democratic Party if Democrats oppose the president in every way possible. Sixty-three percent (63%) disagree and think it’s better for the party if Democrats try to work with Trump

What was the Rasmussen poll result when the republicans blocked everything from Obama?

They didn't. Obama got almost everything he wanted. It's because he completely bypassed the legislative body and signed record numbers of EO's and Memorandum. Don't forget, for the first two years in Obama's first term, he had a democratic majority. It's why they were able to pass the mess known as Obamacare.

I thought that executive orders and memoranda (that's the correct plural of memorandum, fyi) are cool now that Trump is using them full speed ahead?

Also, I'm afraid you just spread a falsehood by claiming that Obama wrote a record number of EO and memoranda. Obama wrote 276 EOs, which is less than George W Bush, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagen, Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, Lynford B. Johnson, Dwight Eisenhower, Harry S. Truman, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Herbert Hoover, Calvin Coolidge, Warren G. Harding, Woodrow Wilson, William Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt. The record holder is Roosevelt with 3728 executive orders, though of course, he was in office twelve years.

The Democrats hurt themselves by nominating Hillary Clinton. Being antiTrump is merely showing repentance.

There's a difference between being an opposition party, and the light-your-hair-on-fire strategy the Democrats are currently doing. Remember how well Birtherism work out for the Republicans?

It turned out well for the Birther-in-chief.

That seems like a dishonest way to present the question. I don't know anyone that would support total and complete opposition in every way possible within our government.

Inherent to the idea of Democrats working with Trump would be that he also has to work with them.

I missed where that was a major issue Trump kept bringing up during the election. Got a link?
He didn't need to as the seeds had already been planted long before then. The election was simply harvesting the disinformation crop the right worked on growing over the past 8 years.

Was that dis-information crop more or less honest than Obama's dis-information campaign of the past eight years?

Just curious ...

His Supreme Court nominee.

While I saw no reason to deny Garland, I just wanted to point out that while the fake news suggested that his was the longest wait, it actually wasn't even close.

In all honesty, do you actually believe that? I ask because I have this hilarious image of Calvin crying into his pillow at night about how the "Birthers" won.
