• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I've been on and off depressed today.
There was definitely a trigger.
It just amazes me that even though I know all the biblical truths in a split moment I can have an off thought and everything just rolls down.
It is kind of scary, but I just try my hardest to refocus on the One that matters.

Yes it is. I have suffered from episodes in the past, however its weird how it can just come on, mainly because of a thought.

Not offended at anyone, but someone deflected something on me yesterday (said the harshes things I've ever heard) because they were caught in a lie.

I totally and completely understand you Sunshinegirl. Same thing happens with me - I get so many triggers - things that just send me into a depression. I feel like I walk a fine line sometimes - move ever so slightly to the left and everything comes crashing. And so, just like you, I've been trying to stay on the firm, straight road and keep my balance. I just picture Jesus a couple of yards ahead of me and I focus my walk towards Him. And as cliche' as this sounds, there is great truth: take it one day at a time. Enjoy as much as you can each day - and not think of tomorrow.
