Thank you for proving my point - talk of Muslims behaving badly is immediately met with talk of non-Muslims behaving badly. The subject must be changed at all costs.

Totally true. I wonder why people even care. It's not as though these were important people. They weren't Christians so their lives were not as good, and important, and valuable as a Christians life. They were kind of worthless people if you really think about it.

John 15:19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Not to worry. If there was a church massacre in Australia with 50 Christians killed I am sure you would have gotten equal coverage at least.

Nigeria.....not so much interest for westerners no matter how the bodies pile up.

The best part of the article came from the Christian Assn of Nigeria.

"We have appealed to the youths in the area that there must never be any reprisal. We want to give the security operatives in the state the benefit of the doubt to go after the killers. We don't want any reprisal attack because the circle of violence and killings will continue," Rev. Joseph Hayap added.

The crusaders were not Christians, at all. Just because someone dons that title doesn't make it so. They joined the RCC crusades because they were promised their freedom in return if they survived the battle. The crusader soldiers were mostly thieves and murderers.

So this canard that liberals always repeat about Christians killing Muslims during the crusades is nonsense.

Furthermore, it should also be pointed out that the Crusades were a response to Christian pilgrims being murdered by Muslims while trying to visit the Holy Land. The Muslims made the Crusades happen.

These slaughters of Christians by Muslims happened last month and the media didn't cover them at all, but now breathlessly cover this maniac from Australia and his depraved actions. One should be ignored in favor of the other. But Muslims slaughtering Christians doesn't fit the false narrative that the media favors, which is that Islam is a religion of peace.

Yes it would be reported but Christians are Christians wherever they are, no favouritism.

I can only say there has now been a backflip here at present and now the sympathy is going beyond the incident and the Islamic faith is being looked at as victimised.
This was an evil crime carried out by a wicked person.
The killings in Nigeria for instance and other countries are systematic slayings that are continuing and will do so.
    With no apology, ever.

That is NOT at all what I said or inferred.
Every life is if equal value, so therefore they should be valued as such.
So killings of Christians should be reported equally as should be the sympathy for them also.
    It doesn't happen.

That would probably be because Muslims are the most likely people to be victims of terrorist attacks worldwide and incidents of terrorism against Muslims has been increasing in western countries.

The situation in Nigeria is different because it's an ongoing conflict that has been taking place for well over a decade. There are Muslims slaughtering Christians and Christians slaughtering Muslims in that country with probably an equal number of victims from both religions. This would be true in other parts of the world where there is ongoing conflict as well.

Those killed in last Friday's attack were mainly from the Fulani ethnic group, who are predominantly Muslim...
Death toll in last week's Nigeria attack doubles to 130

This next one is an older story, but it shows that the violence in Nigeria is being carried out by both Christians and Muslims and has been for many years.

A Muslim community leader in the Nigerian town of Yelwa said yesterday that 630 bodies had been buried there after an attack by Christian militia on Sunday. The previous estimate of the death toll was 300. Survivors of the attacks said many people were still missing and the final death toll could reach 1,000. Another 600 were said to be seriously wounded.

I see, the attack in 2004 looks especially nasty.

It seems both Christian and Muslim extremists in Nigeria are equally guilty when comes to violence in that country.

That 2004 attack is profoundly disturbing, more recently the aggressors are Muslims, let's hope it doesn't escalate.

Thank you for pointing this out. I probably shouldn't have labeled the Muslims and Christians as extremists in my previous post. While there are no doubt some extremists on both sides exploiting the situation in that country, the root of the conflict in Nigeria is not religion and I shouldn't have broadly labeled Christians and Muslims in Nigeria as being extremists. That was a mistake on my part and not my intention.

There are threads about that you are welcome to post on. This thread is about something else.

A story from only 2 1/2 weeks ago is not old.
